It's so funny about the softness thing, I have the same opinion with a lot of my C70 footage. But my mate who shoots primarily on Sony and Blackmagic cameras LOVES the softer look of my footage, to the point of softening his own images a bit to match the C70! Sometimes I think we are all truly too in our own heads about some of this stuff!!

Yeah it’s a funny one that has played on my mind in the past, but I think I’m over it now. Not a single client in three years of using the C70 has ever said that the footage is too soft. I think it is mainly camera envy or ‘grass is always greener’ that makes it feel as though something is wrong with the camera you have. I’m guilty of looking at youtube comparisons etc, but when it comes to the working world it really comes down to preference. Not sure I need the Module 8 tuners in my life though, I have some Zeiss classics and they also have a bit of astigmatism which I really like, and I can use them with the speed booster.

Here is hoping for an L-mount version. Would love to try this on my fp but I bet there are many S5II shooters who also would go for one.

This is the video I'm sure many people have been waiting for, thanks for taking the time to share your thoughts!

Ahh, this is so interesting! Would love to see more active mount options - Like EF lens to active L mount. That'd be incredible!

Or some way to have L mount lenses connected to L mount cameras with the tuner inbetween. Thinking of the 35-150 Samyang with autofocus and ibis data fed to a Lumix and a Module 8 tuner (For example)

I was actually thinking of buying one of these, at least the L2 version. But having a strong effect baked into a clip would give me anxiety lol. Great videos.

I was waiting for more review of this tuner. Thank you for doing this.

Nice one. As a Sony FF shooter, I'm anxious for these to come out in that mount. Maybe I should hit 'em up for a review set! Rave on.

Cool video! If you think about it, it's pretty crazy that we buy camera's that are so good that they makes us want want to buy attachments to detune the image.

Excellent video. What model might you elect? …can these modulators work on a Sony ZV-e10? I’m a new dummy…

I might try this on our R with a vintage Helios lens to see if the universe implodes.

this seems like a fun gimmick for some shots but I would rather just use a PL adapter and rent vintage lenses if I want that look. I recently shot some footage using the c70 and some older cooke lenses and I can't see getting the background consistency of bokeh or blurred looks that we got by going with this option. I feel like constantly trying to "tune" the bokeh is more problematic than just renting lenses. I also understand I live in an area where renting vintage lenses is easy whereas is some areas it may not be a simple option. it should have a lock also. very cool product though.

So you have to change it pretty much on every shot. Unless the aperture remains the same on every shot?

thanks for the video, does any of its tuners offer circular astigmatism, like real anamorphics?
