Nowadays, you can only root your phone after you unlock the device’s bootloader. Then, if there’s no custom recovery supports your device, you’ll require your phones stock rom and then take out the boot image and patch it with Magisk then you flash that patched boot image via adb- a very trick process (phew)

If you want to use banking apps, I’d recommend unroot your device to prevent any possible financial loss as rooted devices are not as secure. You’re saying that you aren’t able to flash Magisk? What method have you tried- patching boot.img or flashing zip via recovery??

I'm sorry to inform you that Itel S23 doesn't have any custom recovery builds available either from TWRP or Orangefox. The reason is that devices with processors other than Snapdragon, don't get their device tree released, so any custom rom or custom recovery development is not possible in such a case.

Go to your Samsung account and change country (you must be signed-in to your Samsung account) and you can change the country in the Profile section. As far as hiding IP address is concerned, you can use Tor browser etc.

It depends whether there's a custom recovery for your phone or not. If there's none, you'll have to go more technical way- get your phone's boot image and patch it with Magisk manager then flash it via PC.

After flashing magisk? No. You do not lose anything just by flashing Magisk successfully. In a case you device runs into a bootloop, you might need to reinstall an OS and yes, that might wipe all your data including your games. So you should always backup your important data first.

Modules won’t install unless Magisk is properly installed. Magisk can be installed either via custom recovery or by patching boot image. To install a custom recovery, you’ll need your phone to have an unlocked bootloader. Custom recoveries come as .img files (to be installed via fastboot commands) or flashable zip file (if you already have a recovery installed). Unlocking bootloader erases all user data on your phone.
