I recently went to the studio of Moe Brooker, Philadelphia’s great abstract painter, to learn about his life, career, aesthetic ideas.
I was also seeking wisdom from a man I have known and deeply admired for 45 years.
Moe Brooker has a show on display at Philadelphia’s Stanek Gallery through August 10, 2019.

I’d never heard of him before, but this video just showed up in my feed because of the algorithm, of course. Wow! I can only echo what other commenters have said here. I’m going to save this video. What an amazing artist and person and someone who has made the world a better place. Blessings on him and all of his family and the maker of this video

Love Moe’s Work! I too have never heard of him until today....also showing up in my news feed. This is one feed I am grateful for. His deep love for family and himself is what he embraces for inner peace and joy. His message to us is simple but strong.

I learn so much from you every time I watch one of your videos, whether it be about how to "see" nature, o how to approach a painting, or how to know "joy". I am an ardent fan of yours, Mr Brooker - many thanks and hugs, cat

What a beautiful film about Moe Brooker. He was a professor at PAFA when I went there and I benefitted from his critiques. So sad to hear of his passing, but watching this was highly comforting. What a full and wonderful life he lived.

Yesterday I was in a conference where it was promoted that 'men don't do joy' telling me that this is not a word males use. As an artist and art educator, I don't agree. We all had joy when we were 6. I have heard the giggles from cheeky boys making cartoons and witnessed the delight they have in creating art. My heart was broken when I heard others telling me so proudly that as a man, they don't do joy. What a loss. Mr Brooker is my defence. How much better would the world be, would all of us be, if we had more men that did 'joy'. PS. We would all be better off with more joy in our lives.

Wow! Algorithm maestros, you hit this out of the park giving me this video today. I love art, but have never been as fascinated with modern art as I found myself to be with Moe Brooker! The colors ring and sing and create a vibrant world of, yes, JOY. He looks and acts not even half his age; I wish I had the wherewithal to buy about ten of his paintings, one for every room! Thank you! I am going to look into him and research his work.

Basquiat also didn't wanna be seen as a black artist. My feeling is that there are lots of little kids, some black who want to be like you because you are a black artist so how can the label be a bad thing?
