This is a daily vlog of a Japanese mom and her 3 years old daughter.
Moe and Sutan took a business trip to one of the most traditional cities, Kyoto. They stayed at their grandma's house and enjoyed some relaxing family time. And the next day they were shooting with a traditional tea ceremony master.
Mother-daughter trips are always a lot of fun, even if they are short and only stay one night.

Here in the Netherlands we have train cars meant for working/relaxing in silence. People are expected to stay silent, so no loud music through earbuds, no talking, even whispered. In those cars, I understand it if people complain about others talking. I myself have brought the silent bit to other passenger’s attention, if they were talking. But in regular trains, you simply cannot expect others to be quiet. Especially not children, as long as they’re not screaming or screeching, all’s good.

In Germany we also have family and/or small child train cars where it is ok for families to have children for be loud, it's really helpful for families.

Typically, to my knowledge and experience, rowdy children aren’t as much of an issue in Japan in comparison to other countries. Moreover, because Japan is limited in livable space the cost of owning a car is actually quite high as parking isn’t as easy to come by as say America. The majority of people riding the bullet trains are also typically business people/office workers who are jumping from office to office and meeting to meeting.

Growing up with asian culture and now living in Europe I realise the difference is that Asian parents tend to remind children to be mindful of other people around them and how their actions may affect others.

Wearing a kimono in 100 degree heat seems unthinkable. Whenever we have days like that in New York I exert myself as little as possible. Sutan seemed well-behaved during the traveling and event she was at. Meanwhile, that sofa's about to take a beating as it looks like it's her new favorite toy.

Luckily she was indoors for awhile where it’s cooler (I hope) but when she was in that car, you see her pulling at her collar for air and the person driving her must not have a/c in her car because Moe looked flush in her cheeks and I think I saw sweat on Sutan’s forehead. I know it’s really humid in Japan, my dad, sister and their church orchestra went to Tokyo for a performance for a week and they said it was beautiful there but absolutely too hot and high humidity. We live in central CA and it gets up to 105 degrees but very dry here, so,they weren’t used to that much humidity, I heard it’s worse than in the east coast in the U.S.. But if I ever get to visit Japan, it’ll be in the Winter or Spring or Fall. Hearing those cicadas and feeling the humidity is not on my bucket list! Lol

Don't worry, they have lots of tricks in their sleeves to withstand the warm weather. Their genetics also seem to have adapted so well that it seems unbelievable to a westerner like me. I speak from first-hand experience.

My, isn't Sutan growing up fast!! Very well done at the 'shoot', Sutan. Your behaviour was good. A credit to your mother (and father, too). It's good that she's gradually 'growing out' of motion sickness, one thing less to worry about!
