There were indeed a lot of wires on this build, but between the kit and some organization it isn't so bad.... I'll see you next week with part two, and don't forget a fun Diecast build Saturday!

Paul, I am working on the same project with everything also. the lighting kit, photo etch ect.. Your problem on the power switch, fusion core switch was very helpful. What I did was flip it upside down to expose the nubs you describe that needed to be file off. I just used a small micro drill bit, found the center and then drilled the right size holes for each switch. The nubs on the bottom were gone without any sanding. this also allowed the nut to be screwed on without any problem.Thanks for the insight

another tip would be to gut some channels in the lower hull to run cords through so they don't interfere with the floor and upper hull....

@@pauly7218 Got it. I work very slow since I'm not retied just yet! just finished the bottom hull. My low melt glue gun came in the mail yesterday

Looking forward to seeing the flight deck consoles lit. I always thought those Burroughs computer lights were cool too. I built a cardmodel of the J2 and also had problems with deciding what colour the interior should be. Having the whole set on DVD I started looking but every scene seemed to be a bit different shade, very odd.

Hey Paul. The problem with your splotchy metallic finish is because you were spraying a large area with a small nozzle. Ideally you want to use something like a Iwata TH2 with a fan spray head to get even coverage.
@pauly72184 жыл бұрын
I actually have a detail automotive brush and was seconds away from turning to it. Thanks for the good info!
@theragingdolphinsmaniac46964 жыл бұрын
@@pauly7218 Or you probably could use a Paasche VL because it has a large spray pattern with the #5 tip.

Great job Paul. Very informative. Where did you get the interior lighting kit?
@joshuapfeifer6422 жыл бұрын
Had no problem with the freezing tubes because i didnt uae hot glue. I never use hot glue for models. If i need something other than model glue use epoxy in a syringe.

Hi Paul, I noticed in the instructions for the Lighting Kit, its stating to use one of the Static Tube bases as a mount for the reactor core lights, is this something you did?, I didnt notice you doing this in your video, also were you able to align the reactor lights to the gaps in each of the open slots in the reactor core cover ?, love the video.. cheers David
@pauly7218 Жыл бұрын
So yes. Follow the lighting kit instructions visa vie the tube base. Also, I don't actually remember if I aligned the core or not - I doubt it is a big deal either way. I'm starting a re-build shortly and will do a new video and will mention what I find....

Hi Paul, I'm currently working on this build and have the same lighting kit you are using. My question is that I noticed you are using a difuser of some kind on the lighting for the fusion core. Is this something you made or were able to purchase, any information would be helpful.. thanks
@pauly7218 Жыл бұрын
David. It is the kit's clear insert. Just lightly spray it with white paint. In my case I used Tamiya White fine primer
