Disagree. I can see Gladiator 2 falling off quickly if enough audiences don't like it, but I think there absolutely will be plenty of people who will go see it, at least at first. Moana is one of only a handful of Disney movies from the last 15 years that were actually solid, and a bunch of people liked it. If it's good, I could see it doing better than the original, but it's Disney, so don't underestimate their ability to mess it up. I did hear it was a TV pilot that they made into a movie, so take that for what you will. Lastly and especially, I don't think you understand how many people got sucked into the Wicked craze in the 2010s, and most people don't know anything about the stupid nonsense from the main actor. If the other two don't make big money, this one absolutely will unless it's really offensively bad. That and Moana 2 have potential to attract a lot of families. I wouldn't be shocked if the week of Thanksgiving underperforms what some people are hoping for, but I do think this will be a successful weekend.

Wicked would have to be uniquely bad for that movie to be a bust. I think a lot of people here don't know or forget how big the Wicked craze was during its run in the 2010s. Guarantee it's opening is going to be big. Whether or not it has staying power will come down to how good of an adaptation of that play it is.

The first Moana was great, especially from a technical and animation standpoint. I expect the second one will be similarly good technically, but from the trailers it looks like it might be a bit of a paint by numbers sequel in terms of the plot. But to compare it to Disney's direct to VHS or direct to DVD titles? Yikes, I wasn't sure if you were comparing the first or second one, but that's a huge insult to the first Moana and I'm certain the second will be equally insulted by that comparison.
