Was unaware of Mogwai until today when I saw a mention in a comment on a video of the instrumental band "Explosions in the Sky." Glad I read the comments!

Mogwai are just so so stunning. Years now and past I'm watching TV, a drama or a film, and BOOM - my senses spike. Mogwai. That sound is so distinctive. Big up Cat Myers nailing the drums. She's one to watch.

Dude she's beating those skins within an inch of their lives. She goes OFF the moment she gets the chance to, and I know if she was mic'd, she was probably screaming at the top of her lungs as soon as she got her moment. I wish I'd been able to see her the 2 times I've seen Mogwai. Still an amazing band to see either way though.

Best comment on the video right here. I've seen them live a couple of times, but always with their regular drummer. The fill in drummer just goes OFF the moment she got a chance, she's beating those drums within an inch of their lives. You can tell they're having a blast during this set. And yes, I prefer this one vs the studio or even the live versions I've heard. The entire KEXP set is great, but this song in particular, you can tell they're all having a lot of fun.

I saw them back when they toured with Young Team and I knew the album inside and out, but the guy 1 meter in front me apparently didn't, because when they went from silence to noise he got so scared that he jumped back right into me. lol. Glad I had ear plugs that day and that my lungs didn't collapse.
