I like Mogwai. I need to go out and buy one of their CDs. Not sure why I haven't before. This song has a great contemporary flavor while clearly being infused with the sonic fury of other great 90s power alt rock bands of the same genre.

Hey now, don't attack the guy. I kind of agree. It's one of my favorite songs from one of my favorite albums from one of my favorite bands, but I don't think this video does it any justice. It has a few interesting shots, but It's simply an unidentified man walking for three and a half minutes.

Great song about ? a great town? San Pedro, Ca. aka LA Harbor is Los Angeles city proper and btw is full of musicians and always has been. We got a bridge and docks too. I'm just racking my brain here for a visible [any] connection to the video but I got nothing. They are quite a few more/ other spanish towns called "San Pedro" as well but even less [virtual] connections there. Would the band please step forward and explain this mystery for me a a lot of your curious fans 8 years after the fact [it's release] please? THANX

I think leaving the mans face a mystery is an analogy to their music. The lack of lyrics gives the listener their own interpretation to the meaning of the song. Just like how everyone might have a different idea on what the mans face might look like.

I like to relate this song with the figure of St. Peter (here, he is known as the guy who send rain to us, from heaven; Ancient people often say that "St. Peter is angry", when it rains hard). So, i think about a warm rain that starts sunny, and becomes a storm. It gets angry at 2:10. (I'm sorry about my english :P)
@gebhardtgummi63353 жыл бұрын
Can somebody compile a list of mogwais faster tracks like this banger? Ive also started, but according to their massive discography and the fact, that i prefer prog to post rock,it gets annoying to search through all these songs to find faster,louder parts. In their prime theyre genius,but the spheric,slower bits dont match with my taste right now.

I'll take that notion one step further. Being open for interpretation is the only thing that's not up for interpretation. No where in my Mogwai coloring book does it say we can't color outside the lines.
