im not usually an "ugh i was born too late" kind of person bc the past isnt to be romanticized, but theres exactly 2 things that do hurt me to know I can never experience. One is seeing Blair Witch and thinking its real, and two is seeing Bright eyes in this era

Lol u literally just described my exact experience but I lived it???? I legit opened a witch store & based my logo off that movie bc it scared me shitless as a child in the theatre and although I never got to see bright eyes live in this era I was a fan during the beginning and height of indie 🥹

Always strange remembering how early those Wide Awake tracks were written; nearly half the album's represented here but wouldn't be released for another 2 years. Dude was spinning songwriting gold in his sleep this era.

Thanks so incredible! none of these people would have probably heard them before, let alone know they would become some of their top songs.

Man, you captured the literal minute I became a Bright Eyes fan. I was at this show with a friend who was very much into Conor in all his incarnations. I hadn't heard of them. The line ending in "And then he shot me dead" is what did it. Thank you for having this memory on video, kind stranger. We were less than twenty feet away, almost 20 years ago. Wow.
