In Islamic belief, Allah tests people in various ways to see who will remain faithful to Him and who will turn away. The concept of trials and tribulations is mentioned throughout the Quran, and there are various verses that discuss how Allah tests His servants. One verse in the Quran that addresses this concept is Surah Al-Baqarah, Verse 155, which states: "And We will surely test you with something of fear and hunger and a loss of wealth and lives and fruits, but give good tidings to the patient." This verse emphasizes that Allah may test His servants with difficult situations such as fear, hunger, loss of wealth, and even loss of life. However, the verse also urges believers to remain patient and steadfast in their faith during such trials, as Allah will reward them for their perseverance. Another verse that addresses the concept of trials is Surah Al-Ankabut, Verse 2, which states: "Do people think that they will be left alone because they say: 'We believe,' and will not be tested." This verse indicates that belief alone is not sufficient to escape the trials of life, and that Allah may test His servants regardless of their level of faith. Overall, Islamic belief holds that Allah tests His servants in various ways, including through difficult and trying circumstances. However, believers are encouraged to remain patient and steadfast in their faith during such trials, as Allah will reward them for their perseverance.

The reason that many people might think that way is because of the Christian concept of the Fall of Mankind. But Islam rejects this conception, mankind wasn't intended to have that life in this world, Allah already knew that Adam and Eve, may peace be upon them, would eat from the tree; and unlike the Christian original sin where mankind inherited their sin, Allah says He accepted their repentance and humans are born upon goodness, i.e. the fitra, not in sin. In the bible it says that God regretted, but Allah doesn't regret, He is All-Knowing, it was preplanned it would be a test for us. Quran 2:30 And [mention, O Muḥammad], when your Lord said to the angels, "Indeed, I will make upon the earth a successive authority." They said, "Will You place upon it one who causes corruption therein and sheds blood, while we exalt You with praise and declare Your perfection?" He [Allāh] said, "Indeed, I know that which you do not know."

My issue with those who keep bringing this agreement, is that they "act" as if they care, they care about all the children in the world, they care about the sick, they care about the poor, the weak the animals... But knowing the human nature, I know for a fact that they don't, they might feel sad for a couple of hours or days for somebody close, and eventually they'll forget and keep living their lives. Each one of those who says "i care" he sleeps like a baby every night. Even those who really sincerely care about the dead, sick and poor.. what can he offer them ? Nothing but fake emotions.. maybe a little bit of money best case scenario.. Now compare that to what God has already gave each and every one of them and us, from the beginning of creation till this moment? Absolutely no comparison.

The answer as I understand it from different ayahs of the Quran to the problem of evil is; You start off as a new born not knowing anything. Could you have known what is day without night, what is justice without injustice, what is pleasure without pain and what is good without evil? So if life is a test, how could you make a moral judgement and choose between becoming good based on your actions or being evil based on your actions, without the presence of pain, injustice, evil, and suffering. The presence of these things not existing would stop the ability to be able to choose between good and bad. Therefore there would be no test. So this life isn’t a test to see if God is all good, but a test to see if you will choose good. Then choosing good ultimately comes down to trust in the existence of Allah.

@@dadush4 The question itself doesn't solve anything, because a lot of things are not answered by science and are answered by religion. Science is comfortable with saying "I don't know, that is beyond my knowledge as of now", religion isn't so comfortable with that, religion says "science doesn't know, but I do" and just stops there, if religion says "I do" then science expects there to be something convincing to backup said claims, and effort to disprove claims lacking in evidence is not required from science. Even outside of science and into any other field of knowledge or even common sense; you make a claim, it is simply on you to convince me it is true or I will remain atheist.

The idea that a universe of this incredible complexity, is the result of a coincidence is just absolutely nuts to me. Human beings have been on earth for a large number of years & we are yet to invent something that is even remotely close the complexity of ourselves (mankind), let alone the universe itself. Believing in the wrong God is one thing but Believing that no God exists is just plain stupid. May Allah protect us from these levels of ignorance.

God attributes shouldn't be taken literally as Muslims take them. Anything which has attributes, no matter how Hijab tries to explain them, is created, not a creator. The correct explanation for attributes is that we use those descriptions only for lack of other words to describe God in our limited human understanding, so we use terms which are the closest analogies. But the fact of the matter is that God has no attributes, all of them are really the same - his pure assence, not distinguished from each other

The problem with that argument is that it evades the question. The one making the positive statement, "There is a God", bears the burden of proof. My argument against God was that the universe seemed so cruel and unjust. But how had I got this idea of just and unjust? A man does not call a line crooked unless he has some idea of a straight line. What was I comparing this universe with when I called it unjust? If the whole show was bad and senseless from A to Z, so to speak, why did I, who was supposed to be part of the show, find myself in such a violent reaction against it?... Of course I could have given up my idea of justice by saying it was nothing but a private idea of my own. But if I did that, then my argument against God collapsed too-for the argument depended on saying the world was really unjust, not simply that it did not happen to please my fancies. Thus, in the very act of trying to prove that God did not exist - in other words, that the whole of reality was senseless - I found I was forced to assume that one part of reality - namely my idea of justice - was full of sense. If the whole universe has no meaning, we should never have found out that it has no meaning: just as, if there were no light in the universe and therefore no creatures with eyes, we should never have known it was dark. Dark would be without meaning. - C.S. Lewis

If God created evil just to test us, to then torture 80% of humanity in hell for eternity because 80% of men failed the test by remaining disbelievers, it means that God is much worse than in the objection of atheists, it depicts a God that is infinitely sadistic because even a great sadist would not torture someone incessantly throughout his life. Even the worst Nazis didn't do that. It makes more sense not to believe in god or to believe in another god(s) than to believe in a god who is ultimately a sadistic monster.

What a pity I can't believe that unicorns exist when I would love to choose to believe in them! You see it's not about choice, it's not about free-will, we do not choose to believe or not to believe that unicorns exist, your mind cannot decide to believe in them, it's something that imposes itself on you in spite of yourself. That's why we're not responsible for our beliefs, it's either a compulsion, something you can't control, or an indoctrination, in other words an external manipulation or pressure that ends up controlling your mind. Sociology shows that faith is not chosen, it's inherited, only 1% of people convert to another religion, so we are the victims of a determinism, it all depends on where we were born and the education we received. For example, if you are born as the Dalai Lama, you will remain the leader of the Buddhists all your life, there is 0% of chance that the Dalai Lama converts to another religion, and Allah would punish him in hell for eternity because he made him be born as a religious leader? This story that life is only a test to see if one is convinced by the existence of Allah or if one has not been convinced by Islam is a vast hoax, it makes no sense since we are not responsible for our beliefs.
