Thank you for another great video Russ. I have been sitting around my apartment for the last seven years but no more. I am retiring this year and am 61 years old, divorced, kids raised and for the last two years, I have been getting ready to hit the road. So see you on the road soon Russ, and look forward to meeting you. Take care, Mike

I grew up in Blythe and I found the empty aqueduct to be fascinating. It could be due to drought. The proprietors rights of farmers and Indian lands get first dibs. If you go towards Blythe there is a farm bridge that takes you through Poston Az. Below Blythe there is another Farmers Bridge at Cibola. Some nice on the River camp sites and wild horses and burros there too.

Stayed on the south side BLM off Hwy 62 in December 2018, again in spring 2019. Nice and quiet!! Little challenging driving my Goldwing in and out on the sketchy access road. Came down Hwy 95 from Las Vegas in 2019 filled up with gas in Vidal Junction on the way to Salton Sea!!!

Been here done this I work for Metropolitan Water District for 18 years. I known my way along hwy 62 and 177 62 ends at I-10 near Palm. spas, and 177 at I-10 Desert Center the most likely reason for the lack of water is this time of the year is maintenance due to low demands. The Aqueduct is 254 miles from Parker Dam to Lake Mathew’s, right behind my house. The system was built in 1933 the same time Parker and Boulder dam was started.

The only time I have ever been to Parker was 63 years ago when my parents and I visited a couple who were family friends and had moved from Los Angeles to live in Parker on the river. They had an Airstream Travel Trailer they lived in full-time. I recall wading in the Colorado River as a toddler.

Down the road a few miles there's a place where it goes under the ground through the pinto mountains it's a tunnel the tunnel is constantly happened to be inspected because it's not a tunnel that is concrete is so Solid Rock and they have a lot of avalanches inside the tunnel they have to clean out from time to time I seen it on Huell Howser many years ago really cool they actually took a cheap and go all the way through it to Lake Mathews to inspect it the fishing and nothing is incredible especially when they first drainage and you get there when the waters 6in deep the catfish are incredible

My mom lives in Parker was visiting 2/23-26 I was there on Thursday made it home this morning Northern California Susanville to be exact I was excited to think maybe we were on the road at the same time because I was also visiting Quartzsite as I was down there last year for about six weeks

Hi Russ, love videos of out west. We were always taught in school in Ohio that there is very little water in the desert. Ya, thats why they call it that. So what happens, millions of people move out there and use all the water up. Here in Ohio and my winter home in Florida, we can was our cars and water our lawns everyday and still don't put a dent into the water suply. Their will be a day where you all out there might only get to flush your toilet once a day. Eeke.
@richardbeee2 жыл бұрын
There's a big water "fight" going on right now. Cali says the waters theirs, CRITs say they have 1st rights. On it goes. Been praying for more water, but....Even Havasu is now drilling more water wells. Guess they could see what's coming. Then there is Phoenix and opening up their underground water reserves this last year. Hey, it's the desert. Should have thought about this years ago when they kept saying: Let em come. A native.
