In our coaching annulene 14 is called as weakly aromatic and u took this example this truly shows u are going to cover all the advanced level concepts so no one should ask whether it is of advanced level or not I can assure it's truly Advanced lectures taught from basic

Sir in eg 29, lecture 13 of GOC -1 when you were comparing stability of resonating structures, then you told there stability of resonating structure with greater no. of covalent bonds is even greater than a resonating structure which was aromatic. And now in examples of polar aromatic compounds you are doing just opposite. Please explain.....

Bro don't consider the three pie bonds in alternate fashion as ''aromatic"" The example you r talking abt is the exact resonating structure means the electrons are confined there just like the kekule structures they are not aromatic.. but the hybrid of benzene is...

Isn't O in furan or N in pyrrol is sp3 hybridized then why it's electrons are in sp2 orbital and p orbital? Pls anyone clear my doubt

In furan oxygen has 2 lone pairs, only one pair participates in RESONANCE, hence calculated as 2 pi e-. Other lone pair contributes to determining the orbital of O. So two bonds and one lone pair = 3 , therefore, O is in sp² state.

According to the rules for comparing stability of different resonating structures of the same compound . It was told that no. Of π bonds if to be checked first and layer on aromaticity. Now here its the exact opposite. Why Anyone kindly clear my doubt

Sir said that π bonds should be checked first But he never said that aromaticity should be checked later If you're comparing 2 compounds then If one is aromatic and other is non aromatic then obviously aromatic would be more stable there is no point of counting pie electrons And if you're comparing 2 aromatic compounds then compare according to that rule

It is for resonating structure not compounds to find which structure contributes more in a resonance hybrid of compound , aromatic compounds are always more stable than non aromatic and non aromatic than anti aromatic

Sir in ring strain theory you have told up to 5 member there is high strain means unstable but it is of 10 member it has low ring strain and it should be stable i am asking about 10 annulene(18:05)

bhai there is not much difference in actual angle and ideal angle. second reason is that due to aromaticity it will be highly stable.

Wo lone pair conjugation mein hain and as sir told in Initial lectures of resonance such lone pairs are not counted in hybridization. ( as you can see in the 3d structure they are in same plane with other p orbitals overlapping in same plane => participating in resonance)

nahi aromatic ka characteristic hi wohi hai ki woh sabse jyada stable hai whether another compound is more resonating or not main game starts when we have to compare between two aromatic compounds (according to me)
