I love that you find and surface these kinds of things, and that is why I keep subscribed to you - but if I could add just a little feedback it would be that your summaries are often nearly as long as the original content and that makes it so that I spend less time on your video and instead go directly to the source. That may be fine, but as a content creator you may want to examine if your intent is to keep eyeballs on your video instead of sending them somewhere else. I would very much watch your whole video it it was shorter and more to the point.

Pabrai is not a credible person in my opinion. He praises companies and relatively shortly afterwards exists the positions (Alibaba. Seritage, Shinoken just as examples). Now there is nothing wrong with changing your mind, but if you have the confidence to praise companies into heaven to your audience, you should know enough about them and not have to change your thesis every five minutes. If your own commitment ist so volatile, you should not praise these companies as if you have figured them out...

Not to mention his returns have been below average for a while now. I've never understood why he gets mentioned in the same breath as the real legends. He says all the right things, but doesn't follow his own advice.

He maybe just coming across better ideas if his returns are improving over the long term you won’t mind him changing.I like Amazon but I think MSFT, Google & Apple are much better businesses though google might be a slightly higher risk of new technology making it redundant but still prefer the risk return on google
@Mesozoic_mammal

@@jasonwhiteley3612 He and other value investors often mention how rare those good investments are. Now he found a great spawner (shinoken) and talks about all the new business it will create aaaand then sells out few month later, never to mention it again. Maybe he found something better, but is that likely? Three times within two years he finds companies that are so great not only does he invests in but he praises them left right and center, just to find something even better a month later?

I feel the same. He seems so credible in the things he says, but his actions make no sense at all, specially in later years.

Why should the big bets Pabrai made matter to the average investor? If he keeps buying and selling a couple of months later, while advocating the buy and hold great businesses philosophy, why should someone care at all about what "bets" he makes?

I don't know why pabrai gets so much attention compared to other investors. His returns are at the bottom of the list of super investors and he constantly contradicts the principals he preaches about.

I totally agree. Mohnish is a very average cloner. Not sure why he is so hyped. Its mostly self aggrandizing

you forgot to add that alcohol company in china and coco cola manufacturer in turkey. these are one of his top bets. by the way sunteck is not a big deal because they have been found cheating their customers lately it's only a matter of time before the real estate bubble bursts over here since the property prices are 40 times the gdp that is you need 40-50 years of full earnings to buy one average sized home and medium is twice i. e. 100years of gdp

Pabrai’s thesis on Tencent’s capital allocation isn’t correct. Alibaba’s managers are value investors. Tencent’s managers buy unprofitable tech. Unprofitable tech just did better in the bubble of 2021.

Nice video as usual I love Monish and LiLu . They are both great investors. I do not have the time to read on companies. Therefore I am a unshamed cloner. Thank you for the update. Question : how do we invest in Reysa ? Why is he not interested in Intel (and Micron ) ?

Hi Brad, your video was great! What do you think the size of Prosus may be in Mohnish portfolio's? I think is between 10 and 20 percent in RV capital that is where probably he got the idea. Does Mathew Peterson also own it? I think Warren is way smarter than Charlie even if Charlie is more educated and instructed. Warren has demostrated this in many ways, like for example saying Charlie is smarter than him. His way to communicate and treat people is way ahead of Charlie. His hability to addapt to new conditions as well. I might be wrong and it's only my impression. Thanks for the great content. Cheers!
