@@JayBlackCult Yea, I’m a graphic designer. Not for some fancy, big-wig ad agency, but for a small, local business. We specialize in making signs and doing vehicle graphics, but we dip our toes into printer media as well (business cards, brochures, etc.) In other words, I know my way around Photoshop, but am still MYSTIFIED by what you can do with these programs. 😳

@@AngryDadGaming Ahh awesome!!, I do exactly the same as you, sometimes I do 3D parts for printing or web pages, or videos. It all depends on the client. Lately due to the covid everything is slower. Nobody wants to spend a lot on advertising. But hey, thanks for your support bro, for real!. Haha and it´s not weird what I do in photoshop. @@alirajabi9730 Hey Ali, what´s up Bro!! Oh thanks a lot for your comment!! 👐💪💪 Oh, I know what you mean, I also have the same problem. Ok, Let see if I can help you, here are some Ideas you can try. There are 2 tools, one is called, “Quad Mesh”. (For moho 13.5) Or the “Smart mesh”. (Moho 12 and oldest have it). Both tools can help you to generate small movements on JPG, PNG files. First, if you are working with a 3D character. Render it, send it to photoshop and then Separate the arms, legs, and head. Take a look at my video on how to export from photoshop to Moho. That is what you have to do. Separate each part of the body. Then you can work it inside moho and it will look great. Rotation: The only way to rotate a jpg or Png (or whatever that is not in vectors), is to make a “frame by frame” animation. There's no other way. Small rotation: If you just want the character to move his head a little bit, or blink, you can do it using the meshes. (smart mesh, or the quad mesh). That´s the only way to work with jpg, or png files. Nice movies to check out made in Moho (with frame by frame animation): • Song of the Sea / The Breadwinner / Wolfwalkers I can recommend you the following: If you want to make simple animations, like characters for video games, or simple movements, You can work with 3D + Photoshop + Moho. If you want to do complex animations, or 360 rotations or a short film, Draw Everything in Moho. You can try using bones, or frame by frame animation. But practice before starting. Do some tiny animations to test everything before starting. About my Instagram, I don´t know but youtube is changing the link. Look for me as @jayblackcult, you will find lots of Tshirt pictures there haha. But yeah that’s my Instagram. And let me know how it goes!!!.

@JayBlackCult
@JayBlackCult 7 ай бұрын
Hi there Red Bones!! how are you. Yes you can, just export the file as SVG from Illustrator, and then import it on Moho. that will import the file on 1 layer. so, just go to script / layer effect/ RT Break apart shapes, and that will split all the parts. But be careful, borders sizes and maybe other effects may not work, so, after you split you may have to fix some extra details, but yeah it works. 😃😃😃😄

Hello there i could use some advice see im using moho pro 12 for a while now and i loved it however there is a new version called version 13.5 and i been told is pretty good now here is my problem in order to upgrade from version 12 to the lastes one i need to pay for the upgrade and i dont have the money for it and i really dont know if moho pro 13.5 is worth the money and mean yeah it has some interesting features and all but is the switch really necesarily to make professional looking animations or does the version 12 has that covered already
@JayBlackCult
@JayBlackCult 2 жыл бұрын
Hello Karla, Nice to meet you!!!.😃Oh, That´s a very good question. I also did some research about it and I worked a little with moho 13.5. Ok, let see. My personal opinion is that there are no big changes. I actually expected much more. I have moho 12, and I'm going to wait for the next one to see if they make bigger changes. The possibility of importing 3D files and working with them (mainly in the creation of backgrounds), I think that is a great advance. Toon Boom for example, now supports 3D files too. I mean, the industry is trying to bridge both worlds. 3D and 2D. Clearly it is something that is going to be improved in every platform. The interface is the same. no big changes. There are some minor updates with the brushes, but nothing special. The possibility of adding wind and controlling it, that seemed very interesting to me. In summary, in my opinion, I found the 3D new features (mainly for backgrounds) and the wind option like a plus. But that's all. Moho is growing, that´s a fact. There are already 3 award-winning films made with it and the future will definitely come with very good news. Believe me, you can do amazing things with Moho 12. Movies like Song of the Sea, The Breadwinner, both were created in Moho 12. Except Wolfwalkers, that one is from 2020. Created with Moho 13.5 I think. As a personal tip, I usually wait 1 or 2 versions before changing the program. So don´t worry, You can still make amazing and very professional animations in moho 12. Even movies! So, don´t worry, if you have Moho 12, you have one of the best 2D softwares in the market today.

How do you keep all he bones together when you manipulate the head? Example : if I wanted the head to tilt left and right along with the rest of the face features
@JayBlackCult
@JayBlackCult 2 жыл бұрын
Hi there Lamar, what´s up. Oh thats a good question. Let´s see. Generally, Moho does most of the work. Usually when you create the head bone, Moho "almost" always knows which parts he should keep together. But you always have to adjust some details, so: 1. Select each part of the head, for example the hair, then select the Bind layer, and then click on the head bone. Repeat this process for each part of the head. That´s one way to do it. 2. If you have more than one bone, you can work using the bind points like I did here ( 13:08 ) (13:36 ) (14:06 ) 3. Remember to always check the strength of each bone, and to parent the bones correctly. 4. To attach an entire layer, just select the layer, then the bone, and click “Ctrl + shift + F” or “Ctrl + Command + F” ( 12:38 ) 5. Finally, and depending on the case, you can use the dynamic bones. ( 14:53 ) Let me know if you need more help. Sorry for the delay!!! Have an amazing friday. But if you need help, just let me know and I´ll try to help. 💪💪

@@JayBlackCult I’m greatly appreciated of your reply. I think I’m making it harder than it suppose to be. I have a bone for every feature: head, lips, eyes. And under the bone I have the actual picture/vector of what I want to manipulate (eye bone>eye vector). So now I’m thinking do I delete and start over or is it a way to still go about it? But yeah I appreciate your reply very helpful!!

Hi Jay, thanks for the video. One thing that always bothers me is the starting pose for rigging. As in a story it's so tedious to rig every individual position in various scenes, don't you think it would be better if we rig the character in a typical T pose? Although sometimes we can't get the most ideal pose out of it.😕
@JayBlackCult
@JayBlackCult Ай бұрын
Hi Alibaba! You are absolutely right, I even tried it. But Moho has a peculiarity. If you are going to create a short film, it is better to make it FBF. If you are going to create short animations (with human characters) you can do it with bones, but basically you will keep the character always in a profile view probably. You will not make it turn 360 degrees or anything crazy. You can also use the bones to prepare characters for video games (on a profile view). But Yes, you can make the initial character in a T shape, but already in frame 1 you will have to modify it completely. You are absolutely right, it is tedious. But it is always recommend to plan what kind of animation you are going to create. And if you have few vectors, the better. The bones are a great help compared to FBF animation, but yes, you have to modify the whole character as soon as it changes the position. 😬

Hi there Lync!! oh so sorry for the delay, Sometimes YT doesn´t show all the comments at the same time, gosh. I don't know if you got it yet, but yes. You can save your .ai file in illustrator. Then from Moho you can go to IMPORT / VECTOR FILE / ADOBE ILLUSTRATOR. But this will import your file in a single layer. To separate it you can select each part of the character, or background, and select from the top menu, SCRIPTS/ LAYER EFFECTS/ BREAK APART SHAPES. Here you can choose if you want everything to stay in one or many layers. and that's it. If you can't do it this way depending on your version. Option B is to export your file as SVG and then from Moho you go to Import, svg file. let me know if it worked

Teacher i need to know why in moho I don't see the color correction options, I want to have the levels and the balances white change tonality brightness vibrance exposure, but I don't see any options of this and this if it discourages me the program is all right but without this it's like going to the battle without a weapon...
@JayBlackCult
@JayBlackCult 11 ай бұрын
Hey zeny what´s up!!! haha I agree 100%, going to battle will depend on what are you trying to do. Moho can add textures, vector colors, or vector points with some FX, but if you're looking for color correction tools, levels, and stuff like in toon boom I´d have to say that you won´t find that. I have a kind of an extended version 12 and it doesn't have that option. I generally do color correction using masks, textures, etc. Moho needs to work on that for sure. I'm not sure about the new Moho 14. Ive seen pretty cool new stuff on that version, I tried to find the manual but I don't think it's available yet. I can´t say if they have those options or not so far. the software as we can see is changing really fast, so if they don´t have it yet, they will pretty soon. I like the Blender of the 2D world. they trying to make a mix all in one of 2D animation softwares.

I hope that one day moho will catch up with those menus weird truth, because even free programs bring those options.. hopefully one day they'll put that in moho
@JayBlackCult
@JayBlackCult 11 ай бұрын
@@zenyfilmsrambo Hey Zeny Hi!!! It's true. It would really be interesting to have the option to correct colors or levels. The truth is that in recent years there are several things that are changing in 2D and 3D design programs. For example, when Blender started, it was highly criticized, people hated it so much that everyone thought it was just a bad joke. If you wanted to sculpt you had to use Zbrush and if you wanted to work on high quality 3D animations you used Maya and if you wanted to work more in the gaming area you used 3D Max. Even many series that look 2D are created in Maya. Including south park. Right now, if you want to sculpt, the best program continues to be Zbrush, and for animating, Maya is a favorite too. but now we have the latest version of blender, which advanced and surprised many by creating an interesting mix between Maya, Zbrush, and even Unreal. but here comes the interesting thing. Blender is a good mix for certain jobs, and the truth is that depending on what you want, you will have to learn all the programs. for animation, Maya is a very good option. I saw that blender is also great, I just haven't used it much yet. What I mean is that Blender grew. Now it is no longer a joke and they are taking it seriously. It may not yet have the working capacity of the other programs, but it is likely to happen soon. but let's not forget that zbrush and maya are also improving. So, the answer to your question will always be that you should choose the program according to what you plan to create. In the case of Moho the same thing happened. Everyone laughed at moho thinking that it would never work. and from version 12 it advanced, surprisingly, it is used in cartoon studio films. Moho surprised with the ease of it and the dynamic bones and bones system. an animation that in after fx can take you 2 weeks, in Moho you can do it in a few hours. It still doesn't have all the tools you need. In my personal case I wish I had better brushes like in Toon Boom. but step by step, like blender, it will improve. And the answer would also be the same. The program you choose will depend on what you want to do. Here I mentioned some important points of Moho, and gave some examples of movies made in Moho, check it out. kzbin.info/www/bejne/b5mnXp5vfK1mj6s Keep in mind that there is also post production. It is there where you can add more effects and correct details. think about it this way. Programs are just tools. Blender's Greace Pencil is great, and Maya's toon shader is also great. just like toon boom brushes or Moho's bones. Sorry for the long answer, but I find the research you are doing very interesting, actually, you are on the right path. Finding a software to work with is not easy. They are all good options. But there´s a fact. You can learn, Moho, Blender, Maya, or others. It will take you time, yes. And once you learn, another new software will probably come up. And you will have to learn another one again. Is the never-ending story lol. But don´t give up. The more you know, the better. 😀

@JayBlackCult
@JayBlackCult 2 жыл бұрын
Hi Edgar, nice to meet you bro!!!. Oh, don't worry, This happens all the time. let's see what we can do. OK, if you use the add point tool, you should always close whatever you're drawing. For example if you started to draw a circle, you start, you draw it, and with the last point bring it closer to the first point. The vector will turn green, and that will tell you that it will join. Check to have the Auto-close option activated. If your figure is close thats a good start. Second option: Perhaps you have the width set to zero. Try to increase it to have a line thickness. 3th option: In the example of the circle, if you have already drawn it and closed it, and you still can´t see the border line, select all the vertices with the "select points" tool (or the letter G), and then use the "Line width" tool (or the letter W). and over your drawing click and drag to increase the thickness. Let me know if this work, if it didn't we'll try other ideas. 😃😃😃 have a good day bro!!!

If even the final render is not looking ok check the project settings. Go to File, then Project settings, and check the size. HD is 1,920 x 1,080 pixels. you can also try bigger resolutions if you want. But go step by step. Try first to create a render. go to File, and then Preview.
