Moi was a man who only loved his job the presidency power and all that which comes with it. Moi was NOT a patriot a nationalist or statesman and to call him these names is the height of hypocrisy by some Kenyans and those who benefited from his 24 yrs of misrule. Moi don't even deserve a state burial. Imagine we had a retired former president during the 2007/08 post election turmoil that nearly brought this country to its knees and it took Koffi Annan together with the former head of states of Tanzania Ghana and South Africa to broker peace when the country was burning yet Moi was just around never uttered a word and that is the Moi legacy he was part and parcel of the problem and could never have been the solution. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr said that he or she who cannot take a stand in times of crisis and live with it whatever the circumstances do NOT deserve to live. Really Moi did not deserve to have lived in the first place. I personally give Moi credit where it is due and I am giving him 60% credit for a smooth transition and handing over power peacefully to Kibaki in 2002 mainly bcoz Kibaki was a Moi loyalist having served as his VP for 12 yrs and was never a serious political opponent otherwise Moi could NOT have handed power to someone like RAO.

What a golden heart he had for suffering human race.
