Your seat issue was resolved in the aero coupe, they had a flap of leather/material that hung down on the front of the seat, you flipped it up to cover the seat while getting in and out, to keep you from getting the seat dirty. Research it, simple but clever.

You ( supposedly) built it. There if you don't like it you have no one to blame but yourself. You could have made the hole for the tow bar bigger, the seats slide easier..... You are the builder !!

No 'supposedly' about it. The amount of "assist" in "builder assist" of this airplane was overwhelming. So much that the FAA will be revisiting the topic.

I flew a Grumman for quite a while. To get in, you slide the canopy back and step in similar to the Sling. But, the seat bottom is Velcro into the seat back, and it can pivot up. So, what you do is struck your right foot in (on the pilots side), lift the cushion up with your heel, then step into the seat base (not the cushion). When you pull your other for in, it goes to the floor, your right foot follows to the floor which releases the cushion, then you but sure firmly on the seat.

The heater is marginal, you could add that to the list. I’m thinking of putting in heated seats, which is why I put the third alternator in. The other thing I have an issue with is the stiffness of the rudders. I didn’t catch it until too late, but the plane is so coordinated that you barely need to use rudders. I hope it will loosen up in time. All of the other bearings I milled out a little so they are not sticky. I love how smooth the stick is in my plane. N356TM

Hey Mike! I bought a telescoping towbar from Bogert Aviation. It collapses to a very small size, takes up virtually no room in my baggage compartment. Also, there is a way to get in and out of the front without stepping on the seats. Hard to explain, but maybe I'll show you next time I see you. (We should organize a Sling fly-in!) Thankfully I didn't have any of the other issues you mentioned. Props to @EvanBrunye!

What was wrong with your brake install? And what was fixed? Also, if you don’t like the tow bar, it’s pretty easy to steer this plane by pushing down on the vertical stab fairing to lift the nose off the ground, and then just pivoting the plane on the mains. Just like a C172.

With respect to the backlight issue, I used to have my garmin backlights set to "automatic", and I also found it annoying. Later the avionics guys changed it to operate off the lighting rheostat that operates the old style lights. I find that essential at night when you want to get the panel lights really low for night visibility. In fact, one of my instruments had a (to me bazzare) feature that if the rheostat was set to low, it went full bright. The maker explained that this was a "fail safe". That instrument is no longer in the panel.

Issue 1: It’s experimental. You built the plane. Drill the front wheel pant hole out larger. Issue 2: lubricate your seat mechanism. Issue 3: leave the key in the plane after you first walk up to preflight. Seems like an obvious fix. If I’m washing my f350 with the key in my pocket it’ll lock and unlock every time I wipe a door handle. So I don’t keep the key in my pocket. Issue 4: sounds like an electrical/voltage or wiring issue. Again, you’re 51% builder if done through build assist. Note that every single photocell auto brightness I have ever experienced in avionics is less effective than manual. I always use manual whether it’s on Garmin systems I have most experience with or AFS and Dynon avionics. Issue 5: get a high wing if you don’t want to step on seats. Many aircraft this is the only option, so not TSI specific by any means. Issue 6: install the correct size gaskets to keep the air out. Again, you technically handled 51% of the items during the build process. Put the seam on the bottom. Issue 7: acknowledging that the issue with the brakes was the installation… so I don’t know how you could “hate” the plane for that. Issue 8: ran out of things to complain about. You stated in the video that saying these are things you hate about the TSI is harsh. Then you proceed to title the video that way and use it in every bit of on screen text after filming and saying that. Just a click bait video with no real substance. Generally you have great videos, but this one was just a witch hunt.

I owned and flew a Grumman AA1 for 16 years. Take a look at the super-simple towbar set up on that aircraft, will solve your problem! Also look at the seat on the AA1, where the part u you sit on is hinged and you flip it up with your foot and then stand on the very strong tubular mainspar before sliding in. If the Sling does not have a handy mainspar in there, maybe the actual floor beneath the seat is strong enough to stand on?

GA rules to live by. 1. Never close a Beach Bo or Baron door unless the owner/pilot says its ok. 99% want to do it themselves, for good reason. 2. Never, ever, step on the seat when getting into a Cirrus. The seat has a special honeycomb material designed to absorb g-loads in a crash .. vertically (think descending under chute). Few GA airplanes have that mode, so most non-Cirrus folks never think about it. Since I've own one, I became uber aware and do my best to never step on any seat. That, and seats are expensive and they all look like crap with a foot print on them :( The Sling, needs a real door or entry space would be hugely helpful. Same for the baggage door. This may also fix the window seal issue.

You have no one but yourself to blame for 3 of these things. You did built this E-AB, right? #1 - Cut the holes in the wheel pants bigger. Go to Home Depot, buy a bigger hole saw. Done. #6 - While you're at Home Depot, get thicker weather stripping. #7 - Install the brakes properly. It's no different than servicing the brakes on your car. Also I'll throw in #3 for good measure. There's clearly some sort of mechanical relay in the IntelliKey install. If it's just switching a light on and activating the PTS, just replace that with a solid state relay and your sound should go away. I appreciate all you do to support E-AB and GA, but c'mon bro. Your name is listed in the FAA database as the builder of that plane, but at the same time you act like you had no clue the brakes were installed wrong. Smh.

@@pred7949 Building and flying your own plane is deadly serious business. If you’ve never so much as done a brake job, or can’t figure out to cut bigger holes in the wheel pants to fit the tow bar, you have no business having the repairman cert issued in your name. I like Mike. He’s cool, promotes GA well, and is probably single-handedly responsible for more black interest in general aviation than all government diversity programs combined. But the FARs are written in blood.
