Video games might be primarily entertainment, but there’s still people out there who don’t understand millions of fans’ favorite past-time and create controversy where there never needed to be. For this list, we’ll be shaking our heads at some of the most ridiculous times video games were in the news or the public eye. In this video, Fox News never played Mass Effect, Jack Thompson was disbarred for “Bully”ing Rockstar, Stellar Blade’s Eve was just too damn sexy, and many more times everyone got very upset over practically nothing. I understand the controversy of exploiting Animal Crossing’s wi fi features to expose children to vulgar words or pictures (poor Blanca…) …But the existence of a “child predator” NPC, who had NO affiliation with irl online crimes?! How did Night Trap not make this list? To me, it's still the epitome of judging a game on face value alone. Adults were frightened about a game that encouraged violence against women... when the whole point of the game was to keep everyone safe

I kinda understand why people were upset about the censorship in Stellar Blade because Shift Up announced that the game would be completely uncensored a month before game released, only for them to go back on their word by releasing a update that covers up some her outfits and reducing the gore just 2 days after launch. They wasn't fully transparent on what changes the that the update made either. Shift Up made a promise to their customers that they weren’t able to keep which why people were upset.

Double standard. We were upset to have to see sex scenes and nudity in Last of us 2 and we were called incells for hating it. Then we were called incells because Sony itself felt that a little more chest and jiggle physics was more graphic.

As well as for the censorship, the majority of everyone who is complaining about it are looking at Sony Entertainment since the decision to be more strict about suggestive content

Stellar Blade honestly better get some game awards. The combat in this game is fluent and fantastic, the story and characters you can form connections with, and the best part, the music. I swear every new area we visited had the most beautiful of music, and if a hard boss was stressing you out, the music will help you stay at ease

I stumbled upon an actual news report out of Canada from the 80’s where the reporter was complaining about fantasy games. He specifically mentioned Wizardry, Dungeon Magic, and Final Fantasy 1 but mostly focused on Final Fantasy. He said that Final Fantasy was preparing children to become satanists by training them in black magic, teaching occultism, interacting with spirits, and “worshipping the dragon”. I've got back into Carmageddon Max Damage literally a few days ago. My save on Steam has a 100% file but I like starting from the beginning every now and again. The neighbours probably think I'm some sort of head case now. Because I sit here shouting out loud with the game "ALL THE WRECKED 'EMS!" and "I was in the war...!"

The person who played it brought up a perfect topic about whether violent video games cause mass shootings. A controversial topic while playing a controversial game. He claims that people who cause mass shooting are mentally ill. He also pointed out that he turned out fine and played GTA 3 as a kid (who hasn't?). -8:40 Isn't GTA 3 the big one?

Gamers were told they were weird for wanting Eve to maintain her figure, and yet it’s somehow *NOT* weird for games journalists to take issue with the developer’s creative choices in the first place?
