I really wish they'd bring back/revive the Jak and Daxter series. The first game is a personal favourite among the original trilogy. I still love it so much to this day. The second are third games were also good. I even remember playing the spin-off game Daxter on my PSP back in the day. Even if the first 3 games got a remake, I'd still be content with that over nothing at all. Although a brand new J&D game after all this time being dormant would be more preferable/desirable.

Honestly i think a soft reboot or new story direction after jak 3 would work in the same setting. Introduce light rpg mechanics for platforming/eco based skills and gun/vehicle development through crafting, materials, money, XP etc. in line with the core mechanics from the original trilogy. Maybe something similar to what gears did with the locust into the swarm could be done with the metal heads for a new enemy archetype.

Wasn’t much into the early games, but the 3rd? Loved it. Great replaying opportunities, plus just finding cool fights to get in around the city once you had all the weapon upgrades. And stealing countless hover cars and getting in dogfights with police

The jak and daxter series is a large part of my childhood and i loved every game in it. Yes that includes lost frontier. Just like ratchet and clank if they make a new game for the jak and daxter franchise im going to buy and play it if only for nostalgia.

I think now could be a great time to revamp the series. We have so much high tech, challenging games at the moment, this would be refreshing

This trilogy deserves a proper remaster. Crash got one, Spyro. Plenty of games deserve that treatment. Twisted Metal, Sly Cooper, Ratchet and Clank. An actual remake would be incredible. Id prefer that then a sequel. The people who made the originals special arent there anymore. Instead id like a proper way to play it. The ports on ps4/ps5 run like garbage and the HD collection is literally locked to the ps3. The series should not be left behind. Gex is coming back, for gods sake. Jak deserves to as well.

the first jak and daxter game i played as a kid was the lost frontier on the PSP. call it not good, call it bad. that game has a special place in my memories and i loved it though i wish you could use all the upgrades and stuff i got after completing the game just going around the world etc but i digress. i did find the older games and played 2 and 3.

8:19 wow thats a surprise. I will admit there were some parts of the game that became difficult but not enough that i thought it would rank that high

I’m a Nintendo guy and Zelda fan first in gaming but Jak and Daxter gives me that special creative feel similar to Nintendo so I’d be happy to revisit in a remaster collection and a new entry just like another forgotten game…Megaman Legends 3.

There's so much that they can explore that doesn't require playing as Jak or Daxter. I say to leave their story as it is and explore other avenues in the world.

They can bring it back if they want to. The key is to not change the character design too much and to have a reasonable explanation for why the series continues. For example, he finds a way back but realizes that there's a new evil that wants to destroy not only the old Jack from the beginning but also the current one as he is the reason for his plans ruining each reality he finds himself in. It would fit the theme of opening rift gates up and bouncing around realities.
