@AbhijitPakrashi-q3t You should always find an alternative than find fault with the existing system. You are talking about a leader who was not the only one who wrote this. Can you draft another Constitution which can please all and fits the solutions for all problems which exists? If yes, please go ahead. We all support you. If no, don't complain.

@AbhijitPakrashi-q3t Why do we Indians need to confirm that everytime? Although we were colonised but Indians were never slaves like Abyssinians or Africans who were sold as slaves. There is also a group which believes India was not independent till 2014! (LOL!) Anyway, your answer is totally taking us away from the main point. Each and every culprit must be given capital punishment because they are not humans.

This is very sad how these media are targetting just west bengal. The issue is across the nation where the PM of indian is closely associated with many murderers and rpsts. They normalize rpe by not punishing their friends like prajwal revanna. does the most intelligent agency the cbi not know about this? it requires a mistaken leak of a usb? and then you have the supreme court going with a narrative about safety for medical workers not addressing the issue of women safety in india. safety of any worker is important. The whole govt system is evil.

The fact that a corrupt, mafia-mentality doctor like Sandeep Ghosh was at the helm of affairs at R.G. Kar Medical College emboldened a criminal like Sanjay Roy to commit the most heinous crime with such audacity. He believed he could literally get away with murder under Ghosh's patronage. Such was the toxic atmosphere in the college during his tenure. There are more questions than answers in this case, especially regarding the involvement of multiple individuals in this ghastly act. Sadly, even the anti-rape bill tabled by the West Bengal government does not focus on making workplaces safer for women. It seems more like a politically driven response and lacks detailed provisions for expediting trials or investigation.

Not just that, Mamta Banerjee tried to help him distance himself from the scandal by giving him a transfer so he could terrorise other students and continue to hold positions of power. She also sent 2 men to convince the mob of students to accept his transfer as there was much outrage abt it. And now she has the audacity to call for "harsher penalty" for grapists (she was secretly protecting), as if there already aren't enough severe punishments for these crimes. A Sandeep Ghosh can only exist in an extremely corrupt system, he and his master are exactly the same.

The Bill is definitiely a politically driven response like you said. A Governement which fails to provide basic infrastructure like proper toilets in the Hostels hospitals, rooms for on-duty Doctors etc. is just pretending to care for the security of women.

Workplace is not unsafe for women only but for men too, as as per news paper reports, there are multiple cases of false complaints of rape and sexual harassment by women to harass and to send to jail innocent men to take revenge. New proposed Act of WB, is totally silent on issue of false allegations by clever women. Hope, this proposal will never become Act.

Let's not shy away from implicating WB Govt and particularly the CM, who is in charge of both Health and Police Dept as the role of the Govt in the entire episode makes them responsible to create this unholy nexus for years, of criminals in charge of the medical education system in WB. Give all the audio, video recordings already available to any sane, independent person and it definitely won't take any time to find the complicity of the state govt in this crime. The people in-charge must not only resign, they must also face trial.

Dear Supreme Court, there is serious concerns amongst common people about the seriousness with which you are taking this matter. This is an earnest request to you to bring this investigation and judgement to closure unearthing the nexus and direct/indirect involvement in committing and/or circumventing the truth. If CBI is reluctant then you should give them the free hand to go deeper in the investigation. Finally even if it means punishing some Chief Minister then you shouldn't hesitate. Then only people's confidence on you will be reinstated. Looking forward to you to bring the brighter days ahead.

Yes, you are so right ! Enough is enough ! Someone, somewhere, knows what went on, that night. Everything, from the 3 phone calls, to the police not giving access to the parents, and urgency in cremating the body and so many loose ends. The whole world can smell a rat or rats that are involved in this murder & rape. But the highest institutions like the SC & the CBI cannot crack this case. Then they should be scrapped. If they have to torture Sandip Ghosh & get the truth out of him then so be it. As of now, I feel they've only jailed him, to protect him from the public. He will be safer in jail & he will probably enjoy a comfortable life , owing to his political connections. India, I cry for you.

Young doctors protested too late thereby compounding the confusion. Nobody knows better than them the consequences of the hasty cremation of the victim of a suspicious death. They should have protested right at that stage. I think it was a momentous failure on the part of them. They had enough time to realize something fishy was going on. Even if they were unsure, they could have reacted on the side of caution. At this stage, their delay is proving fatal.

The lesson is when similar incidents happened and got covered up the public kept quiet never came together to raise their voice . The criminals started pushing their boundaries . Hence now it happens in open public . Bottom line is corruption must be the deal breaker for any public official and politician. They must be punished and removed from their post immediately and forever. If the public and politicians can end a stand up comedians career in a jiffy with just one incident then why is corruption tolerated. Not one AAP politician has been proven corrupt why are they in jail for what. Public is least concerned again.

I have been watching this story for sometime from NZ.....but sadly despite all the exposures and questions....none of the media have asked the pertinent questions and issues: 1 ) why has not the law enforcement heads, Ministers etc called upon to answer the shoddy evidence preservation and crime investigative methods deployed by the police 2) why does the criminal ordinance allowing for quick disposal of the body not being questioned or flagged? why is there such a provision under law? Why aren't these questions of law not being flagged ? The law itself has not being questioned is an issue? Since many a time those who are targeted and killed are the poor and the weaker sections of society, where the victims are hurriedly buried always with the collusion and complicity of the police and the judiciary such as the magistrates providing a greenlight. Invariably allowing for key evidence to be destroyed and the crime being placed under the rug. India suffers from severe racism and castism and severe patriarchy etc and having authority under a law, or under color of law; which allows for a complicit law enforcement machinery, and other unduly interested parties and institutions the power to dispose of the body of a victim without due process of law or transparency should be the key questions here? Shouldn't there be a provision under the law preventing even the police from disposing of a body of a victim of crime for an allotted reasonable time; such as a few weeks or months as may be necessary in order to preserve the necessary evidence and to prevent the complicity of individuals and institutions tainted by corruption and malfeasance? Plainly shouldn't there be a mandatory law requiring and preventing the disposal of the bodies of victims of crime by the police and judiciary in a hurried and opaque manner which lends to the accusation of institutional collusion and corruption in covering up the crime of powerful interests.?
