Thank you for sharing. Hair care has become so complicated. As a child, my mom never thought about the porosity, density, elasticity, texture, or pattern of my hair. Lol. She kept my hair and scalp clean. She ensured that my hair was looking good all the time. And my hair thrived. My mom always stressed that we not play in our hair. Hair care was simple.

+mynatural destiny it's not that it's complicated, this info has always been around, but until now it wasn't available to the general public by-way of social media. But yes, hair care should be simple! And it is.

I just care about the health of my hair. I have been a subscriber of yours for at least four years. You have showed me how to do a protein and elasticity treatment. I have went to your blog and followed your monthly hair routine. And you have and will always be my hair crush, lol. I want to congratulate you on your growth, successes and your new hair salon and the many more blessings that God has in store for you.

When I started watching your videos almost a year ago my hair was too trained from getting pressed often and I wasn't using the right products to preserve my natural curls. After taking your advice on experimenting with different products until I found the right ones to use at the right times my hair has become so much more healthier and it's all curly now (of course I had to cut off the damage). Thanks to your advice my hair is truly at it's full potential! It's longer and thicker. You are amazing!

I agree! I have multiple textures in my hair (did a porosity test) and realized that I just needed to learn MY hair. I have read a lot and watched informative videos, such as yours, about hair texture. This is what lead me to realize that trying to type my hair was not useful for me. Nothing wrong with using the chart, it just wasn't right for me.

I just learned about your channel when I picked up my prescriptions at CVS the other day. They all know me by name but 1 of the girls asked me how I liked a hair care product I was purchasing and we talked for 15 min about deep conditioning and shared products we liked and didn't like. She told me you were the best one out here and that your videos were informative. I've become overwhelmed with all the videos and the money I'm spending on products. I'm confused on my hair type and have quickly learned that 4c doesn't help me really care for my hair. I've done the float test but I'm doing it again tonight so I can test different strands. I believe it's low perosity but not sure on the the rest. I asked er to write down your info and here I am!! Thank you for your professionalism and easy to understand explanations. I'm here to soak up everything I can from you.

Girl!!!!! Thank you. I am a former cosmetologist and you stated what I have been trying to tell people. Hair, location, environment, water and diet influence hair. My hair when I live in IL is different than now in NC. My curls are looser in Midwest. In south it frizzed and the water is hard and I have ¾ shrinkage versus ¼ in Midwest. So many factors play a role.

1. Your videos brighten my day. 2. They are also extremely helpful. After finding your KZbin account I kind of binge watched. My hair has been my blessing and my curse. I had so many products in my closet that did not work. I threw everything out. Went to Aveda and threw myself on the mercy of the hair people. I didn't buy a ton, just the Brilliance Shampoo and Conditioner, which were AMAZING. My new goals are to attempt a wash-n-go that I can keep for longer than 2 days. I skeptical. But I did manage to get the Soft Sheen Carson steam line that is discontinuing to give my hair some good treatment. Thanks for your videos! I hope at some point I am up NYC and able to make an actual appointment. :)

Thank you, thank you, thank you. You just don't know how much of a pain hair typing has been and I've honestly given it up because I figured it isn't important. I love my hair no matter what and trial and error has finally gotten me results and I know what products to use. I had told a friend that I think oil is not doing my hair good and she insisted I was wrong. You don't know how happy I was to read your comment that you don't use oil on your hair. It just really doesn't work for me and I thought something was wrong with me. I'm going to just listen to my hair and forget about what others think I should be doing. Thank you so much for this extremely educational video! Funnily enough, I came across your channel while looking up the hair type chart on NaturallyCurly! I was trying to find answers to the very questions you answered so articulately in this video and learned even more factors that I wasn't aware of! I was beginning to think I was the only person in the world whose hair didn't fit into the chart categories and I've been natural for over 10 years! My absolute favourite takeaway from this video is when you said that products are based on the result you want. YES! I have never heard this said before, ever, but oh, how true it is!! Thank you so much and so glad to have found your channel!

Hi Mo. All the information you gave is SPOT ON. Overtime I've found out my density, porosity, thickness and hair elasticity and it has changed how I care for my hair. My hair is healthy. People really have been needing this information. Thank you for putting it out there!

Hi Mo, the video was a huge help. I've wondered about my hair type since starting my journey 2 years ago only because it seems like everyone is consumed with being placed in a box. It wasn't until this very year that I realised that my hair type does ZERO to help me understand my hair.
