Sitting here recovering from Covid, I wouldn't be worried about being late on delivery. You're still in operation, many aren't. The art survives, a new generation is getting trained. We cannot lose this tradition and you're making sure of that. One year to two years, what's the difference? Attention to detail and quality above speed of delivery is what makes your work so great.

I just had this brilliant idea for a way-off future series, you should do one that either parodies, references or replicates classic cinema shots, iconic kino stuff in ukiyo-e or shin-hanga, I would absolutely buy a series like that up 10-fold. The most beautiful and iconic shots but carved and printed in a different style would be unimaginably cool.

My favorite video of the year 😁. I love the data and charts. Too bad (for my tastes) that the 1st series sounds like it'll be all monotone. But it will be interesting to have the option with 2 series simultaneously. I wonder if it won't be the same amount of work doing two at once as it would've been trying to do the just the 1st monthly. Good luck! Anyways, Merry Christmas/Happy Holidays & Happy New Years to you, Ayano-san, and the rest of the team. I have a good feeling about next year ☺️
@seseragistudio Жыл бұрын
The two series will run with separate 'teams': the Kyoto prints will be carved by Kawasaki-san (our carver who lives in Kobe), who wouldn't be able to do them one per month, but can handle a bi-monthly pace. And the other factor is the printing team, who wouldn't have enough work with just the Hokusai prints (which will be two blocks each), but who will have plenty to do given this alternating pattern of production. It has been a bit complicated trying to knit it all together, to keep everybody busy, but not overwhelmed.

I know I've been wanting to do it since 2019 but once I become a bit more financially stable again, I'm going to apply for any of the subscription prints.

Adobe Illustrator does amazing auto image tracing. And you can adjust thresholds, levels etc. to get it vector. Do some tweaks on tracing settings. Then you can edit final image like ad or delete lines.. takes about few minutes to some hours. Just a tip... (Then you can shrink or blow up pictures as much as you want.)

Hi, thanks for your work. Sorry if this comes off as rude, but please get yourself checked at a hospital. My grandpa recently passed away the day before he was getting checked, from a heart attack. He was rather stubborn about not wanting to go and get himself checked, which caused him to die early. I really hope that you can reassure yourself that your body is fine and doing well. Even though it can seem like everything is fine, sometimes the issues are not visible until it is too late. Thank you again, and hope everything continues to be well!
