My husband has allergies and I feel like it might be something in our home. The previous owner did some mold remediation from water damage and I wonder if it was not fully taken care of so we really need to have someone come in and do a thorough inspection.

Well I take the NYC MTA everyday to and from work so I'm realizing that we could be absorbing everyone else's EMFs on those crowded trains. I also work at a hospital where the lights are harsh with a ton of EMS from all that equipment. So I have to take the responsibility to help ease these toxins at home. Thank you for such an important episode

Thank you so much for talking about this. I have been struggling with environmental sensitivities for decades. Most people that I meet do not think about these things but I need to in order to thrive. Love to you and yours.

Another thing that people do not do is, clean their air ducts, change filters, clean and inspect their HVAC system. If your house is under 10 years old, inspect your foundation of your house and plumbing. Look for any water leaks because it creates mold and roaches. Keep any sort of yard trash away from the house ( leaves, branches, high grass)

I am seeing my home through a new set of eyes today that's for sure. Sadly I looked up many of the items that were talked about and I'm betting for the majority of people it's not possible to invest in these monitors, bulbs, etc. I can't justify the financial cost despite the possible health benefits. If you don't have the $$ you just don't have the $$. I still plan to do whatever possible to improve on these hidden toxins but in a way that I can financially afford. It's definitely going to take some serious thought to figure out how to reach my end goal. Another excellent episode.

I'm super sensitive to scented items. My skin doesn't break out but the smell of cleaners, soaps, perfumes, candles, etc. all give me an immediate headache. Some of the scents make me cough, I have to chug water to stand being around them. Most people think I'm crazy for it. I can taste the scents in dishes if I don't rinse them first.

Brilliant vid, fam. I have a bad reaction to something my girlfriend puts on herself, (shampoo, moisturizer, etc.). Thanks for turning me on to the MSDS. It's still a process of elimination, but this is super cool. Respect.

I love your podcast and learn something or get inspiration from every episode I listen to. There are several things I walked away with after this episode, but one that is extremely important to me is the Radon gas. I run a business that focuses on pet cancer education. In all my research, this never came up. I have already started research on radon gas and our pets. Thank you for this information!

It’s so difficult to balance this, and I guess the balance is on a personal level anyway, but if you take this stuff to heart, you can easily fast forward to being scared to breathe. This is absolutely against my view of minimalism. Onboarding this info can result in a very cluttered mind. More things to worry about, more things to “fix” in the way you live your life and more topics that can cause multiple mini blocks to the flow we need in life. Sometimes we listen to so many people with an idealistic viewpoint that will never fit into most people’s life. You listen to 4-5 “ideologies” framed in a way that subtly suggests you’re not living life in the right way, then you spend more time living in a way you’ve been told to live as opposed to really living for your own personal cause. Living to your 3-4 core values is more important than living this “perfect life” triangulated around three separate viewpoints adopted of a podcast like this. That, to me, is true minimalism. That, to me, is living intentionally. I get podcasts need to diversify and cover a range of topics, but falling into the standardised podcast model can risk losing the usp of the minimalists. Maybe I that’s why Ryan is going in a different direction now. Also circadian lighting is a major topic in lighting focused sciences and across lighting industries, this view posed today is only one particular view, so if it’s of interest to you, please zoom out on the subject.

Why would you have a CO2 meter? I would think an O2 meter would be more useful. CO2, to really be an issue has to be inordinately high, so high that it’s highly unlikely you’ll ever see those levels in normal living. The main issue with too much CO2 is that it typically means not enough O2 (oxygen). I would rather know how much O2 is in the air than CO2.

You know, I kind of agree with you. Some of the video topics are just wildly unrealistic. In regards to this video, you can do everything 100% and go way above and beyond the norms and still get taken out by a drunk driver. Life is short and we all have expiration dates. Live life like a pot roast: low and slow with a bunch of savory good stuff for a tasty ending.
