In this tutorial we cover the basic steps of creating simple molds and texture stamps with our silicone mold putty. This is a 1:1 ratio putty that cures in ~30 minutes to a ~35A, firm silicone rubber.

Hi. Nice video. My question is this. Is this putty good to pour wax in it? And is this putty good to make a mold for a 1/35 Tiger tank front drive sprocket? I want to make the 1/35 Tiger drive sprocket in steel for a 1/35 Tiger. I am building it all in steel. But I need to make the front drive sprockets and idlers in steel. Thank you for your informative video. I have learned a few tricks in mold making today. Thank you.

This will easily handle wax temperatures of 200F-400F, but you might want to use the softer putty as this one is pretty firm.

Hi! Could this withstand 275º (F) if I created a mold to bake a polymer clay piece?

when mixed they heat to 240 degrees but they have high temp stuff

This formula will handle up to around 400F. If you need a silicone for low temp metal casting use our 70-60 formula.

PlatSil Silicone will not cure against a latex mold.

You can cast polyester, but it is very hard on the mold. Mass casting resins like EasyFlo 60 or TC-808 are better for this application.
