Our injector is a much older version of this one: www.gessweincanada.com/product-p/265-2235.htm We change out the wax depending on what kind of model is being injected. Pink for high details and thin sections, turquoise for general use and purple for models that will be altered/carved after injecting.

@@CONEHEADDK not a bad idea, but I'd like something with a better seal to the mold
@CONEHEADDK Жыл бұрын
@@mudbouggin7563 My molds are clear, so I can see, if they are filled. But I suggest just filling them hard, and then - if the wax is warm/fluid enough, the extra just flows out. Who cares if you have to redo a few of them - wax is reusable. If you only have a few molds, drop them in cool water after filling, so you don't need to waste a lot of time. I have a bunch of syringes, so I can do a handfull at a time. Not that I am "up and running a production", but that's mostly bcz I don't really have the burn out facilities. Tne seal against the mold isn't really a problem - just press it "hard enough", and reuse the spills.

I don't understand where the air in the mould cavity goes when you inject the wax! Would it not form bubbles and resist the inflow of wax unless there were vents? I'm glad it works all the same!
@ClearMindJewellery3 жыл бұрын
You can do relief cuts in the mold. Generally we have found this isn't needed unless the model is highly detailed or small. Although we try our best the two sides of the mold vary rarely make a perfect seal meaning the air will slowly leek out on its own for larger more generic models. We will be working a new molding video in the coming months as this one is missing some information and we can do a better job of explaining now.

After you place the mold on the wax injector you pull up on the plunger. Does that in any way create a small vacuum inside mold?
@ClearMindJewellery3 жыл бұрын
I've like to think so, but I don't think it works that way. Pulling up draws the wax into the pump, so there must be some kind of check valve inside.

Hi. Just saw your video. Awesome. To date we hv been sending molds to casting and they inject. Now we are injecting ourselves. Any advice on why wax is going in creases and forming webbing spillage? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Also how much powder do we apply? If there is talc on wax once removed from mold. Will that show in casting - washed off most of it. Thx again
@ClearMindJewellery3 жыл бұрын
Creases may be because the wax is too cold causing overlaps or ripples, it depends on what you mean by creases. Generally you should only have enough talc on your mold to produce a matte finish on your wax models when you pull them out. Not seeing the actual powder stick to the wax. You may have a slightly textured finish on your models after casting if there is extra talc on the surface. If you can get a nice shiny injection you will get a nice cast model.

Sir I use liquid and castaro rubber both but casted piece size reduce ,compared wax size and original piece both , so how to control shrinking problem solved, I want to cast Silver coin but it's not equal original piece size and weight both less compare original piece , so how to control that problem
@ClearMindJewellery5 жыл бұрын
Sorry but I'm having trouble understanding your issue. When molding and injecting you have to be aware at every step to limit shrinkage. The No Shrink Pink from Castaldo has little to no shrinkage you also need to do your research on a wax that has the same no shrinkage properties, none comes to mind at the moment. Also use a polishing method that removes less material to avoid too much metal loss, such as only tumbling the item. When we make items that need to be a specific size, for example rings, we will account for the shrinkage rate when making the model.
@judeb21275 жыл бұрын
I'm not an expert but in the video they used "Castaldo No Shrink Pink" specifically because it has zero shrinkage. Hope that helps :)

Todays video actually goes into that in the intro. kzbin.info/www/bejne/rqKaaauHi9eFoKs To summarize. Speed and cost. If you don't have enough items to fill the print bed or have so many items you need to do multiple runs its time to think about mold making.
@CorniiYT3 жыл бұрын
@@ClearMindJewellery will add to my watch list does this also work for earrings?
@ClearMindJewellery3 жыл бұрын
@@CorniiYT molding is for making the design element most times. Injecting earring posts is hard and making multiple molds for every ring is a lot of work. So mold making has its place when you're making standard design element and then you add on a ring blank, post, or other finding. or You are doing high volume. Then making multiple molds for each style in each size makes sense.

Gregory Clarke For the molding only or the entire casting setup? I picked the vulcanizer up used and it came with a small assortment of frames for $250 I think. The rubber is about $60 for 5lbs which will make a lot of molds depending on size. Around 15 of the size that I showed in the video.

Hey Guys! Is it possible to make one of these vulcanized molds with a 3D Printed Part? Or does the vulcanizer get too hot and melt the PLA?
@ClearMindJewellery4 жыл бұрын
It’s to hot. You can look into a cold poor mold like liquicast, did a video on making a mold with it. You can also cast PLA directly with the proper investment and burnout.

@@ClearMindJewellery Thanks so much! We (my wife and I) would like to know what is the best way to "mass produce" a PLA Print? We would like to make some sets of Silver Jewelry for our grandchildren and their parents, but 3D Printing each item seems like it would take far longer than injecting wax for a spru tree?
@ClearMindJewellery4 жыл бұрын
If you’re only making a few pieces I’d just print each one individually, the overhead cost for each piece would be lower overall and use less materials. For mass production injecting would be the way I’d go with multiple moulds of the same piece.

@@ClearMindJewellery This is very helpful information, thank you so much for taking the time to reply. One last question! With your helpful guidance I've watched the liqui-cast video you posted and also looked at Gesswein's website at Castaldo clear-cast products. What would you say are the advantages to going for a full vulcanized mold over a clear-cast (besides possible degredation)? Is vulcanization going to give you the ultimate in fine detail, or is clear-cast at the point where the difference is negligible?

Hi there. Is it possible to use the method to produce a large ring with a ring head twice as large as the ring rail. I mean with the "BANANA" method. The scalpel method should work or not? I want to copy a "brutalist" ring. THANK YOU.
@ClearMindJewellery4 жыл бұрын
This method will make a mold out of anything it is the success of extracting the wax from the mold thats the issue. If the top of the ring is too intricate it will be difficult to remove the wax. After making the mold I would make a few relief cuts in order to facilitate this.
