Rotometals sells the bismuth pure or already alloyed for shot, I get the alloy. The moybelum Beliejien ? Something like that is listed in miscellaneous or other category and it is shot alloy listed for a different purpose at a better price and there is a bulk discount as well.

That is cool you can self cast the bismuth. Jusct curious, how much per pound is that stuff?
@sparkysoutdoors62402 жыл бұрын
13 a pound for alloy or 17-25 a pound for shot. So it’s not like I’m saving a bunch of money I just find it interesting and I can make larger sized bismuth as well 🤔.

@@sarahworkman6364 I wish I could tell you but KZbin doesn’t allow free speech when it comes to guns even though this isn’t a firearm. However the name of the company is probably on the mold so…….

Probably worth tumbling the shot after you've snipped the sprues off
@sparkysoutdoors6240 Жыл бұрын
Could be ? I see it working both ways. Round and smooth should pattern better and be more aerodynamic however the teardrop shape should also be aerodynamic, heavier, and less work. I’m still leaving them unpolished because I think that cut sprue maybe more lethal. I don’t know just something I am experimenting with 🤷♂️
@mrsmith9079 Жыл бұрын
@@sparkysoutdoors6240 Heavier and less work, agreed, but I don't think it's at all aerodynamic, and those wild patterns you were seeing could easily be down to the sprues. Tumbling is an extra step, but it's not that much extra work - stick it in the tumbler, come back in 24 hours. Not a big deal.
