New to your channel. This just popped up below a KZbin I was watching. I’m going to suggest that if someone doesn’t want the ‘mixed nuts’ butter, Trader Joe’s does sell not just bags of walnuts, but also Brazil nuts! It is the only place I’ve found to buy plain Brazil nuts, not part of mixed nuts. I eat one or two a day, first thing in the morning, almost as if it was a vitamin! And for those who think frozen rice silly, I don’t know why but I honestly burn brown rice every time I cook it on the stove. Burned to the point it must be tossed out! So, for me it is frozen rice or white rice - and we know white rice is not quite so good for you as whole rice.
@MollieMason3 жыл бұрын
I love this, Hwyla! Glad the frozen rice is helpful for you! I understand the burning rice - it's easy to do if you don't have the right pot.

High oleic sunflower oil is actually not that bad, it has a similar fatty acid profile like olive oil (mostly mono unsaturated). Sesame oil on the other hand is much much higher in omega 6 fatty acids. I would go very easy on the nuts and nut butters, too. I am from Europe and I am amazed at all the great things you can get from Trader Joe's!! I have started buying more from farmer's markets lately and am making more things from scratch, but some convenience is also nice!! I would love to try this coconut milk! :)

quick question (hopefully haha), can you use the canned coconut milk as a 100% sub for milk (in our case we use my homemade almond milk but sometimes if out I need something at the ready) in all recipes? I realize there will be a coconut flavor so that would have to be considered but I am asking solely about performance for lack of better term. So, taste aside can you sub?
@MollieMason3 жыл бұрын
Great question! It's unfortunately not a perfect even swap fr baking as it's all fat vs. real milk is protein + fat, but it should work for many things! You can also water it down to try to get more of a cow's milk consistency.

@MollieMason3 жыл бұрын
Hey Yazy, welcome to the world of intentional nourishment 🥰I do agree, too much processed sugar is not good for our health. I would recommend starting to look at ingredients lists and be aware of sugar intake. Wth that said, I do believe cane sugar is better for our bodies than artificial sugars that they can't process. In something like a perfect bar, I believe the cane sugar is balanced with healthy ingredients. Stay tuned because I actually have a resource coming for you soon on how to read food labels and make healthy choices!
