I had the privilege of seeing MH several times in Davenport, IA's RKO Orpheum Theater, Palmer Auditorium, and Stage West in 1978,1979 & 80's. I was so lucky to have great seats up front; and to have Danny Joe Brown look right at you, smile, and belt out a verse with all he was made of straight from his heart, would send a shockwave through your soul!. Several years later I moved from Moline, IL. to Orlando, FL. where I met Riff West as he was watching his Girlfriends band. Best times and people!

These guys rocked!! I saw them open up for 38 Special and the Allman bros. Both times they kicked ass and blew away 38 and the Allmans with their energy. The lead guitarist, Dave Hulbeck tried to pick up my girlfriend before one of their shows in Hartford Ct. opening for the Allmans. I did not mind because my girl was hot and he had good taste! You guys rocked and had more stage prescence that the other so called southern rock bands!!

Dave Hubelk, The original long haired lead guitarist tried to pick up my girl in a hotel in the 80s. still one of my favorite southern guitarists. They opened for 38 special and blew them away in Madison square garden in NY in the 1970s

When MOLLY HATCHET made it big in the late 70's to mid 80's, i thaught they were a Heavy Rocikin' Group.RONNIE VAN ZANT and guys in HATCHET were very good friends.RVZ was to produce the 1st Album by M H before his tragic passing on the night of 10-20-77.I think M H verson of Free Bird is verycool and the kick start for LYNYRD SKYNYRD coming back for their '87-'88 TRIBUTE TOUR to now. Peace.

I saw these guys open for the Allman Bros in NY and the blew the roof off Madison Square Garden. Usually southern rock bands are stiff on stage but these guys rocked and moved around. Hulbek wailed away and strutted around. What a band and what a show. I saw them again in CT and saw Hulbek at the bar of the hotel before the show and tried to pick up my girlfriend. LOL. I had a hot girl so that made me feel good.

Man I love this song. Guitar World magazine put this song at Number 36 on their 100 Worst Guitar Solos, Riffs, and Licks. I saw it online and I commented by saying that Dave Hlubek, Steve Holland, and Duane Roland we're some of the damn smoothest guitar players I have ever heard. Hell they're probably some of the damn smoothest guitar players ever! But they said that "These three axmen from Florida chopped up every imaginable southern rock cliché until they'd hacked the genre to death."
