You are such a sweet kid. I love that you love this music.. this band came out in the 1970s. That’s why they look so old now. The singers name is David Gilmour. There’s a man named Roger Waters that also used to be in the band, but he tried to take control over it and he and David Gilmore do not get along anymore. David Gilmour is far superior in his vocals and his raw talent. Waters is good too but he has a serious attitude problem which is why he’s not there.

As an old fart (70) it does my heart good to see youngun's such yourself discovering and appreciating the music that our generation was raised on. I know that our older generation is always going on about how the music and bands of our time were so much better than what is being offered today - but I think it is performances like this that lend credibility to that claim. And good job not interrupting what is universally revered as one of the greatest guitar solos ever recorded! Next stop - "Sorrow" from the same P.U.L.S.E. concert. Hell - why not just watch the whole thing?! One of the greatest things you may ever see in your life!

30 years ago I took my 16 year old daughter as her last wish to goto a concert with her dad to see Floyd Pulse concert at Earls Court 1994 was the year .. I find it hard to put it into words how the concert was for me or my daughter .. watching how my daughter just cried an sang her heart out sadly she passed away a few days after but I'm a very proud dad that she got to experience this ONCE in a lifetime event .. this concert was subliminal / emotional / out of this world IMMENSE from start to finish .. Simply the best how David made his guitar touch our souls his solo's was not of this world ! 200,000 watts 90,000+ fans and one of thee best visual moments you could ever experience in a concert ( for 1994 this was not heard of or ever seen in any other concert of that time .. nothing has come close even to this day ! ) ..the crowd was INSANE respect to everyone there, the backing singers just smashed it they was immense ! And you are correct .. that WAS thee CENSORED best solo guitar .. Ever ! As Gilmour made his guitar sing and then cry at the end .. wow just WOW ! 30 years ago and I'm still sitting there with my daughter in spirit experiencing our souls being lifted to another dimension ! PULSE for life .. Respect to you for reacting to this concert worth watching from start to finish ! All the very best ..

So this concert was part of a world tour playing to over 6 million people over 60 cities. They had 3 stage-sets of equipment in 53 articulated lorries weighing over 700 tons, one was in use at the current location, one was being setup at the next location and the other travelling to the location after that. Initial investment cost $4 million plus $25 million running costs, 161 crew, gross profit over $250 million. That's how you do a real tour! I am unbelievably pleased that I managed to get tickets to the night-after this recording, utterly amazing.

The drummer, NIck Mason, keyboardist Rick Wright (RIP) and guitarist David Gilmour are Pink Floyd. The first two go back to the beginning with Roger Waters (bass) and the late Syd Barret. Gilmour was brought in to cover guitar when Barret did a bit too much LSD even to the point of losing his mind and leaving the band. Later Waters left and the three continued on with guest musicians as you see here to give the full experience of their music live. The girls have been with them for quite some time. Durga, Sam and Claudia. You need to continue your journey into PF. It is a journey and one you will enjoy. Remember, a lot of their albums were conceptual and should be listened to in their entirety beginning to end. It warms this old rocker's soul to see young people enjoying our music. It was, after all, the best.

Well, after watching your reaction to the studio version, it was a foregone conclusion that you would love this Pulse version. If you react to more PF, consider that one must be a patient listener--a lot of songs are unconventional and include long intros and interludes, these are integral to the effect the band wanted to achieve. And give attention to the lyrics, they are icing on the musical cake.

This a fantastic live version of a gorgeous song. From the reactions that I have viewed on KZbin, "Comfortably Numb" does seem to garner the highest praise for its guitar solo. There is a Genesis song from 1973, which appears to be second only to this one, in which the guitar solo moves and impresses the first-time listeners. It is called "A Firth of Fifth", with Peter Gabriel on lead vocals, Phil Collins on drums and backing vocals, and Mike Rutherford of the 1980s band Mike and the Mechanics, on bass, 12-string rhythm guitar and bass pedals. Tony Banks wrote and played the brilliant main theme on piano, and the genius Steve Hackett plays electric lead guitar, with the amazing, soaring solo. Be sure to listen on loudspeakers, or at least add a subwoofer to your headphones, because the bass pedals during the guitar solo will not only shake your walls, it will shake your world. And it is better to find the original studio album version, as good as Genesis were live.
