Love Ozzy and Black Sabbath! I don’t think I mentioned this before, but in 1996 my youngest son, who was 13 at the time, talked me in letting him go to a huge concert at Shoreline outdoor venue in Mountain View California. His 17 year old brother was already going with his friends and promised me he’d let his brother hangout with he and his friends. Well, my older son ditched him first chance he had!!! The Ozzmosis Tour, featuring Black Sabbath’s, AC/DC, and Alice Cooper were performing. My sweet young son wandered around and ended up behind the largest stage. As he was standing around by himself, he met a young boy, 12 years old, also hanging out by himself. His name was Jack and the two ended up spending the entire day together. Jack finally hunted down his dad and introduced my son to his dad, Ozzy Osbourne!!!! My son was already writing original music and has gone on to be an incredible musician with 14 albums to his name. Still releasing original music, dropping a new album on Spotify last May!!! Grandma in California loves you, your heart, and your passion!

This ^^^ Diary of a Madman is one of my faves to play on guitar. With one of the most hauntingly beautiful acoustic sections. If you have any sort of mental illness, or have questioned your own sanity at times, this is the song for you. Randy purposely writes it with constantly changing time signatures, and a shit ton of dissonance. As if it were literally composed by a madman. 100% a must

I’ve thought about it but I have never dug into who is behind Ozzy’s songs. He has such great guitarists and guitar work, lyrics, song production, etc. it’s amazing. 100% correct. Ozzy is a great performer but he really has no part in composition or lyrical writing. It was typically Bob Daisly and whichever guitarist was playing with him at the time. Bob did most of the lyrics.

I was hoping he was going to take a friend (as I didn’t know anything about BLS at that time) but he insisted I go along. Omg I’m so glad I did! I was so close to the stage, I could have reached out and touched Zak’s foot. I wasn’t expecting the big bad ass biker looking man standing there! I was in heaven!
