@@MoltonChess What's your suggested weapon against Sicilian for 1500 ELO, 5min blitz? I tried the King's Indian Attack, but it's not like the King's Indian Defense, the center sometimes opens up and a Kingside attack is no longer best.

Depends what you want to play really. Anything could work. Maybe a Bb5 Sicilian or some Open Sicilian Variation you like such as g3. Or even some gambits like a delayed wing gambit could work well.

Excellent video. I do see some positions that don't quite work at first glance; maybe more careful look will convince me, but I will certainly be studying these and adding some of these to my repertoire. I play at lower levels, 1800s and you wouldn't believe me but I had NEVER in all my life of responding with sicilian had seen a3, followed by b4 from white. The other day i did, I did everything wrong and still won... but I was shocked to see that and I was immediately uncomfortable to respond from the get go. Thanks for your video.

@MoltonChess once again. Thank you I'm preparing for a tournament. On the wing gambit 3:17 on your video; on e4 countering against the knight. I saw what I think is a better line for white. Instead of capturing bishop via cxb4. Qa4+ Bd7, Qxb4 exf3, Ba3 Qe6+, Kd1 Ne7, Qxe7 Qxe7, Bxe7 Kxe7, gxf3 Rd8. No longer feels easy to play, as you are also not castled and there's counter play for white; via Rg1, d4. Wanted to give you this line.

After Qa4+ perhaps just Nc6 is the better try

I'm a very new player, so this is probably terrible... but as white I've liked playing 1.g3 quite a lot, then transposing to either the English (if black plays e5 or c5) or the King's Indian (if black plays d5). Bit of a psychological edge when people expect d4 or e4! Just want to say, really enjoy your videos! Particularly the tier lists and your journey to GM series :)

Excellent video! Much appreciated. I was wondering what a Najforf player should do against 1.e4,c5 2.Nc3,Nc6 3.Nge2 with the idea of playing d4 and forcing a non-Najdorf open Sicilian. 3...e5 doesn’t seem to be working as well there. This is probably the main reason why I still play 2...d6 after Nc3, but it would be nice to switch to Nc6 to make the Grand Prix Attack easier to neutralize.
@MoltonChess
@MoltonChess 3 жыл бұрын
As a Najdorf player it might be better for you to play 2...d6 or 2...a6 instead to transpose back in case they try to move order you. Unless you are happy to have your knight on c6. 2...d6 against the Grand Prix is also good

I'm afraid. Not of playing the Sicilian, but when white plays 2 Bf4 of playing an eventual .... d5 an opening up the center before I've developed any kingside pieces, still have my King in the center and my opponent has castled. It seems wrong, and if I recapture with the Queen they play Nc3 winning a tempi. I know I must be missing something, but I am unable to figure out what it is.

Go for b5 and c4 to play against the Bishop, maybe one day can consider ...f6 to challenge the centre.

Hi, I'm new for your channel, but i really liked Sicilian Tier list . What do u think is better for CM 2150 against e4 Sicilian Dragon or Kalashnikov/Loewenthal ❓⁉️ And are there any books for Sicialian Dragon ⁉️❓ Thank you for ur time ✌🏻

Probably Dragon is easier to understand. Just learn a few variations so you can switch it up. Kalashnikov a bit harder to play. Gawain Jones has a good 2 part series on the Dragon. Probably there are other books too.

any advice for black to fight delayed alapin? 1.e4 c5 2.Nf3 d6 and c3 when we already use d pawn to d6 and cant play d5 like in the casual alapin?

I think you should just play Nf6 there and depending on what White goes go either g6 or sometimes Nc6-d5
