@Namy not in every house. In my parents house (and my house after marriage) we cook a separate meal for breakfast lunch and dinner. In my in law's place she cooks the same meal for breakfast and lunch together, then separate dinner.

Not to brag or anything, but me and my brother share chores in the house throughout this quarantine. So cooking, sweeping and folding clothes are done by me while my brother does mopping, washing clothes amd buying groceries. And my dad does the dishes so mum does relaxation and her other work 😊

To be fair to Shreya, under normal circumstances (pre-lockdown), most middle class Indian households have maids that do daily chores such as dusting and mopping and also wash the dishes. The mom's main duty then would be to cook food and I guess walk and feed the dog...which is also a big task, but less than what is shown here. Mind you, there are many women out there who do both - work at the office and also look after daily household duties but they get hardly any attention..

That's what I was wondering, where is the maid? This sweeping and mopping on hands and knees is long gone in our household. We have our maid who comes everyday and some fancy mop that makes it easier. Our maid was coming during lockdown too as she stayed just in the next street.
