If she sends money or buys things for her children, that's voluntary. Child support is mandatory first and foremost. Anything other than that is extra.

I don't like this judge. She is never fair to Dad's. She wants to stick to court rules when it's convenient to the judge but the rules are too strict for Mom to pay the amount of child support ordered! I never saw a judge tell a man the amount seems a little high. Mom changed jobs and wants more money even though she has no children now living with her. Glad the Judge at least held her in contempt and charged her $1000!

She needs to be removed from the bench until she can hold the women just as accountable as she holds the men over and over and over and over and over again. She’s a poor excuse for a judge.

To a certain extent they have to do this. Even with two good parents, kids can be fickle. They can be angry with a parent for being disciplined in an appropriate way. If parents are obligated to follow the parenting schedule, it would be complete unmanageable shit show… all that said… she doesn’t seem to be a good mom.

When I finalize, I prepare the appropriate IRS Form 8332 for all children for the current year, and for each following year until the termination of custody. Every year, I see parents inappropriately claim dependency. I advise my clients to paper file with court ordered documentation and let the IRS deal with the inappropriate filing.

Most people that are in arrears in child support are men, so your vehemence on how women should be made to pay child support sounds extremely petty and misogynistic. Most couples hold traditional roles, the man is the primary source of income and the mother is the primary caregiver. This is just a fact of our society and the reason why in the majority of cases it’s the man paying child support.

I have never liked the term local rule when it comes to court processes. Sounds like a way to skew proceedings toward lawyers, limiting pro se's a fair chance to address issues. basically lawyers self serving themselves with robes and rules.

I don't think that that is fair to say as usually the local rules simply outline the basic things that Pro se individuals need to know to correctly file their motions/supporting documents e.g., what forms to use incl., for child support, child visitation and custody: when and how to file your motions to ensure the other party and court have time to access and review the motion and supporting documents i.e. at least 7 days before a hearing; what info should be redacted or filed confidentiality such as health information/evaluations; max number of pages; court decorum, etc. Just like with anything, there are basic rules one must follow for court filings and they aren't designed to give attorneys a leg up but instead promote an orderly and equal process. It's unfortunate when Pro se individuals make filings without reviewing these basic rules but I think that this is a relatively small percentage of people and its honestly on them for not looking these up and being prepared

The local rules are simple and easy to follow. One of the reasons her declaration may have been denied could be that the document contains ‘hear say’ which is never accepted as evidence in the courts.
