Mostly young wives, set their own restrictions for their husband's parents. We even have a lot of jokes on the topic of Daughter-in-law - mother-in-law. I don't like it at all, but sometimes you give in for the sake of peace in the family. I really like how you, Filipinos, raise your girls, future wives and daughters-in-law. We have a traditional tea since more than 100 years, Pandan tea. The tea originated in central Luzon, not sure if popular in Samal. You can buy Pandan leaves and simply boil in water to make the tea. This is also popular as a cold drink with (Brown) sugar, Large Tapioca Balls (Sago), and some slices of sweet Gelatin (Gulaman). In the last 60 yrs, people started adding Banana flavoring to give its contemporary taste. Sometimes you see this in old school "Sago and Gulaman drinks" in public markets. Pandan is also used in our sweets like Buko Pandan cake or a flavoring in Kakanins. Mama Nina probably noticed this flavor in your Kakanins video. Its great to see your Mama cheering up and smiling. The magic of Samal is working. Your discussions are very interesting. Greetings from California.

Davao has mountains so there is coffee grown there...ask around for the best coffee available n Davao. I really enjoyed watching Mama Nina and Mama Olga interacting as women...it was fun. in Davao, a popular drink to be consumed every morning is Hot Chocolate called 'Sikwati' paired with Puto Maya, a heavy Rice Cake consists of Glutinous Rice, Ginger Juice and Coconut Milk with sugar, when Santol fruit is in season we use that fruit to make refreshments like juice, and also Kalamansi juice is popular drink, and Tuba is popular liquor made from coconut
