I was on drugs for 6 years, went to prison for 4 years. Got on work release and was a manager when I got out. I got an apartment, a car and my license and insurance. I supported my children and worked my way back in their life. No way I would have had a boyfriend who couldn't help. I went to college full time and worked full time when I got with my husband of 12 years now. Got an associates degree. It is a struggle but it can be done. Excuses are monuments to nothing and roads to nowhere.

If I missed one payment on a Friday, I had to report to court on Monday to explain why, and if I did not have the funds to pay, had to do community service every day for 8 hours until I had the funds. I fought and finally received full custody seven years ago. In that time, I have received zero payments. When I have inquired as to what is going on with the active order, I was asked, "do I really need the money?" and "You really want her to pay you?" They will not enforce the order. ~edit My daughter turned 18 and graduated High-school in May. I stopped by the courthouse to the child support enforcement office. Inquired as to, what is going on? "Well, she is 18 now, you don't really need the money now, do you?" Absolute refusal to enforce the child support order, yet again.

That’s true if she has a sister or friend that looks like her and doesn’t have a record/warrants, but a lot of police departments have handheld fingerprint readers that they use on people who don’t have an ID, or claim not to have one… but most of these type of people get busted using a fake/false name because they give the wrong DOB or SSN. If I were to bet on this, I’d say she doesn’t get an ID because she doesn’t want to work knowing that her paychecks will be garnished by the government for child support. She said she used to work doing hair, and she’s most likely still doing hair and getting paid under-the-table.

Can not afford an ID but willing to forfeit $400.00 bond. Could probably get free bus pass to get to school or a job through one program or another. If nothing else this type of human should be picked up by a bus or van and taken out for 8 hours a day rain, snow, heat cold or perfect weather to pick up trash, scrub or paint out graffiti, etc. Then give them 2 weeks off to get a full time paying job, if no job, do it again. Then one week off to get job, no job back to scout work and find a job on your own time. AND just in case the jerk decides to leave the area a Federal law would require them to report to next jurisdiction and resume. Should also be reported to IRS and each state's tax board so that they get no refunds and no one can claim them for an exemption

My three are now 30,23,21, but when I was struggling as a single mom after my marriage didn’t work out I worked. In NJ paid for daycare and took buses with no vehicle. Kept a roof over our heads and always took care of my kids, damn chasing after a man. Apply at the hospitals for housekeeping, get your ID from DMV go to the DMV and get the ID right there they print it while you wait don’t they? They do here in PA. Apply in nursing homes for housekeeping get a job, or does she want a job? Hell I’ve done it and my 23 year old is severely autistic with ADHD, so I suggest taking the bus to the DMV and pay for another ID and wait for them to print one while you wait.

$30 for basic ID here. Advertising it’s going to $50 in the future. Also, if you’re not yet in the system. Such as new resident or recently turning 16-18. It is required to go to a different office first. Which happens to only try to see 30 people a day. It keeps standard hours 8am-3pm M-F. BUT, you will not be seen if you show up even at 5am. You are in competition with suspensions, reinstatement’s, probation, new comers, high schoolers. This may not be the circumstance for this woman. But it has been for my high schoolers. They give up, or drive to neighboring states. As even if you are the first 30, you may not be seen. You are told to keep the ticket, and show up tomorrow. Which will again mean only first thirty will get in. But you will take priority if you still have your stub. There’s not a location in every town either. It is very few. People are out there waiting the night before. Is wrong. But in the poor states, without Hollywood interests people don’t care. 🤷 Jail for debts isn’t worth it for anyone. Is the dad able to care for the kid? Or is this about a sense of justice? Justice may as well mean opinion these days. The fact is, no matter how distasteful she may be. It’s better to have her not being influence to the kid and free. Than have her jailed. Due to perception and societal burden.

I was paying child support in the state of NJ in 1970. After I received custody of my two boys, I asked for the same support payments. I was told that there weren't any laws to make the mother pay support ! WTH !
