I mean it would be weird if it wasn’t. If you have a clear idea as to why you were killed or who killed you, that points officers in the direction they need. SPEAKING OF NOT BEING YOUR DAUGHTERS BEST FRIEND!!! Someone I follow on Instagram is a mom to a newborn and toddler and she made a post on Instagram saying “my therapist said it’s toxic to be best friends with my daughter” and like she didn’t believe and was asking what people thought. 90% of the comments were like “you’re her mother not best friend. That’s the role you play” kids need a parent to guide them thru life not just a friend. You can still be friends w your daughter in the sense you like to hang out together, go to the movies, be someone to confide in, etc. but at the end of the day your kid needs you to mother them.

I just started this video and I'm already thinking about my 1st job as a server at Pizza Hut in Lexington, Ky. My dad was getting his 2nd MA at UK. I came home and asked if I could go on a date with a 20yr old cook at work that asked me out. I didn't really think much about a 4 yr gap because a few people in my family were married to much older men (they met much later in life) and my dad said no. He said there's only 1 reason a 20yr old man wants to date a 16 yr old girl, because he can't get a 20 yr old girl, and that's suspicious. Or what we now call, a red flag. He wasn't wrong.

It makes me so sad that this poor man who was grieving his wife, and his son who was so proud to tell his parents he could take care of them, were mrdred so coldly by a woman who pretended she could heal their family after their loss. 💔 i lost my dad when i was 15 and my poor mom was beyond devasted with him, as was i. When we tell people that they shouldn’t date much younger than their age range, it’s for their protection as well as ours. I would wager that a teenager aggressively pursuing an adult in their twenties is doing so for reasons that indicate underlying issues that you wouldn’t want to get involved with.

At 25:15 Boze says that "as a mother you are not your daughter's best friend, okay? You can be close with your daughter but you need to be a mother first..." I doubt Boze will read this but if you do, may I please as where this idea came from, or where/how you have come to understand this (I'm doing a research paper on the identity of motherhood so I find these kinds of sentiments interesting). I would also love to know how any mothers feel about this idea (or non-mothers too, just lmk which one you are please), and how you have come to understand what a mom should be, needs to do, or what makes a mom 'good' or not.
@bece006 ай бұрын
Personally i dont think the two are mutually exclusive. Why can't you be a mother and a friend? I think my mom and i are besties and shes a fantastic mother
@she51396 ай бұрын
I was introduced to this concept in a psych class at college, to put it briefly it’s basically because if the mother treats her child as her friend she’ll end up failing to fulfill certain parental roles and responsibilities. Think for example, of the things you’re comfortable asking your friend for and compare that with what you’re comfortable asking your mother for. If the boundaries are blurry the child can feel awkward or uncomfortable going to their mother for things that should be totally normal in a typical parent-child relationship. And it’s also possible that parentification occurs where the child will take on the role of the mother to take care of her needs like emotional ones etc Im writing this in bed at 1 am so if I get anything wrong, my apologies but you can look it up online there should be papers on it
@quesoqueso75986 ай бұрын
On one hand I think you can be both but on the other it’s like…I mean my mom is my best friend but she’s more than that. She’s my mom. She gave me life, a friend can’t do that. That relationship (for those who are fortunate enough to have good mothers) surpasses best friendship. Plus there is a certain level of respect there.

IDK - my mom is 13 yrs older than me & we are great friends. We both hold post-grad degrees, no legal issues, & I've been happily married for 20 yrs. We both grew up in AL, a town with fewer than 2000 residents where the only employers were 1) cotton mill 2) fundamentalist churches 3) illegal endeavors. My best friend for 40 yrs is a Clemson post grad, extremely happy & stable. This friendship w/ kinship was belittled, judged, a ticket to hell some said. While we grew up surrounded by murders, abuse, & everything in this episode including a teacher now serving time for murder, another teacher serving time for "white enslavement". I'm going to stick with the balance of respect, friendship, trust, & mutual support both my friend and I experienced. ✌
@renatafarias63006 ай бұрын
My mother is a great mom, she can be LIKE my best friend but is not. She's not my age, not my peer, she's my mom. I've seen that problem when the daughter is the mother's best friend, my mom's best friend is my dad and her sisters, she is on the same maturity level and more of a peer with them. When that line blurs it CAN become an issue, because your bestie will make bad decisions and ask for advice, you can tell them anything and it goes both ways. It can make you as a CHILD have to take care of an ADULT that gave you life, so the parentification of children happen, as in you take care of a parent when your brain can't really make adult choices for THEIR adult life, because you are a child. When a parent is like a friend or a bestie it starts when you are older, i mean my mom started beeing like my friend when i turned 18, before she was a source of comfort and safety, because she's my mom, now i go to her for advice or guidence she's not asking me to take care of her or comfort her, cause she's still my mom. So in the future she will still be my mother but also my best friend, so i really believe that they are not exclusively as when you are grown, not a child.

And then having to hear her last words saying "I love you and I'm sorry." Sick and twisted. I wish the best for Kathy. I just... I don't even care if you disagree with the death penalty. I personally disagree with it too. But I could never sit there saying "it's not fair for Teresa, she doesn't know any better, she has a low IQ", right next to the victim of her crimes. Look in Kathy's face and say to her, "the MURDERER of your brother and your father who you loved and grew up with, yeah, that person doesn't deserve to die. I know YOU, who has been affected by them are finally getting justice, but I think you're wrong. I think Teresa not getting the death penalty is more important than your view of justice." Horrible.

Me and my mom are best friends, but she was definitely my mom first. I'm 19 and we are open with each other, but she still definitely knows how to be a mom.

7:07 I live in a small town of around 2,000 in southern Mississippi, and a lot of people around here do still have the mindset of “As long as you’re getting married, and having babies and going to church then it’s okay” when it comes to age gaps in relationships. It is a lot more uncommon but I still have seen it multiple times. A lot of my older family have that mindset.

I just watched an insane story of a woman named Joanne Dennehy. She's from Britain and an insane serial killer!!!! Very crazy, and sad story. But a glimpse into the mind of a cold-blooded killer!

A lot of the time I watch these videos and realize I have quite a bit in common with these killers. It makes me paranoid that after one bad day I might become the person who makes me afraid to go out at night. LET ME SAY- my therapist told me this and I think some of y'all need to hear it too. If you are actively afraid of doing or becoming something- you are the least likely person to do that thing. We're not murderers people we're just ✨traumatized✨

Amazing delivery and editing and atmosphere and all that jazz. I love the reminders that tho we are human like these sinister killers, we have done the work to find alternative solutions to problems
