The face prosthetics caught me off guard when I first saw them too, but then I just found it to be amusing after a while. Now that this album is done with, there's actually a specific order that you would have to watch the music videos in to get that story within the overall album story. In the music video story there's two "characters" that The Weeknd plays. One is The Weeknd/Abel of course and the other is just called "The Character". One day you'll have to check out the videos in the correct order to understand the music video story within the album story. A lot of people just assume that his music is straight forward and he's just really good at writing chart topping songs, but the true fans know and find that there's usually layers to both the songs and the albums which is one of the reasons I enjoy him as an artist (other than his obvious huge talent at writing songs and performing).

I’m so excited for you to maybe do a whole album!! The plastic surgery is supposed to represent his fear of being a prisoner to and transformed by the music industry. Some have said that his inspiration for this is watching what the industry did to MJ, who is obviously a huge influence on him. When he throws the trophy it’s a diss towards the Grammys for no nominations for the After Hours album, which contained this, and the number one Billboard single of all time, Blinding Lights, surpassing Chuck Berry to get there. It’s a great song. He’s vowed to never submit his work to the Grammys again. I’m still going to suggest The Weeknd: Evolution of a Toxic Lover. Even if you do it on your own. This week has been really great! 🖤

He’s songs has progressions, like seasons to a show… so to be in his head, you may have to go through his discography from the start and look up what he was involved in tabloid wise, then correlate what he released musically with his tabloid moments during or maybe a year or two prior to the time he ends up releasing the songs…he expresses his current life through music.

A lot of his music videos have a story that goes through 2 or more music videos. For example Sacrifice music video begins where Take My Breath video ends How Do I Make You Love Me music video begins where Out Of Time music video ends Starboy music video begins where I Feel It Coming music video ends

All his videos from his “After Hours” tell a story and lead into the next. I believe this video was the last of this “story”. It starts with the “Heartless” video, goes into “Blinding Lights”. Unsure of the order after that

I look for The Weeknd reactions nearly about every day ever since I discovered reactions through my young sons using my KZbin channel. Darn glad I did! My 5 year old loves Blinding Lights 🔥🎶🎵🎶 and speaking of Blinding Lights it just made 700M views on KZbin. His 10th songs to that. Call Out My Name has 791M views on KZbin.
