Your culture should never ever supersede the Word of God. Sometimes we idolize our culture. When we give our life to the Lord it’s no longer about how I culturally identify. I die to myself and live now for the Lord. It’s about the Word of God and just being honest hearing some of these demands from your family is nowhere in the Word of God. It’s all cultural. God comes first and sometimes that means undoing things we were taught culturally. I know we have pride in our race and culture but it’s no longer about those things once we become apart of the family of God. Hearing all these Nigerian rules etc I don’t understand how these are justified when it’s no where in the Bible. God is the ultimate standard not our culture. Do not idolize your race or culture.

Awesome video. I am so proud of our African traditional culture. It's so annoying when many people in the US laugh at virgins for refusing to have sex before marriage. We must remember where we come from and be proud of it.

Nigerian culture is diverse. I'm from Edo state and I'm married to a Deltan man. The culture is a bit modernised. Our foods are a bit similar but the language is a huge barrier especially as we will raise kids. Cultural difference is not a small thing. I can't even imagine marrying another race. In Nigeria, you marry the entire family o especially if he's the breadwinner or firstborn.

🥰🥰 Loved this episode 🥰🥰 It was nice to hear their perspectives. Whenever I hear of someone American marrying someone from the Nigerian culture I hear how intense it is. It would almost scare someone away from ever taking someone Nigerian seriously. It was nice to see how laid back they are. I’m sure it can be a lot different sometimes, however, it was good for me to see.
