Well, just to let everyone know. The engine noise was caused by whoever had the Vette apart last time. The valve covers were installed upside down on the wrong sides! The taper on the inside is wrong, causing the rockers to periodically touch, causing the intermittent noise! All switched, and all good now.

Someone in my family had a 70’s Chevelle. It over heated so the mechanic told them “sorry you blew the engine” cause there was fluid on the ground. She didn’t know any better. So he bought the car from her for 500 bucks in 1980. It didn’t have a scratch on it. Unfortunately there were a lot of dirtbags out there. Just like heater core guy.

Basic maintenance - and that includes diagnosis of a water pump over a head gasket - should be required knowledge to get your high school diploma, that and the same qualifying test the police take twice a year, that should be in curriculum as well if you're going to provide knowledge basically forced into children's minds, might as well be useful knowledge.

Ahh square body life. One of the first repairs I did myself at 17 was a heater core on the hand me down ‘86 K20. And if I remember correctly it was a two piece heater box requiring an arm through each side to thread the tiny bolts out of the blend door rods all by feel. Next job was a leaking fuel tank due to those lousy plastic shields trapping dirt and water.

As parents, we often don’t realize just how much our own kids are learning and growing (because we see them all the time, so like watching a flower grow, if you watch it all day, you don’t see it blossom - but if you only saw it once or twice a week, you’d notice it). So I wonder if you see just how much your son is learning and growing. He’s an impressive young man. He is clearly picking up what you are putting down!

So I learned this lesson with my dad. It's not that the fuel pump is bad out of the box. It's that a fuel system that has a return line. That's how it creates an equilibrium. Otherwise it's just gonna suck on the tank until it can't suck anymore. And that's when it breaks the webos inside the pump. And that's when the hole spits out. Because that's what prevents the fuel from leaking into your oil and ruining your engine. The only thing you can do is either drill.A hole in your gas cap like we did or you can put a vented fuel cap.On if they are available or run a pump with a return

Im lucky i have a brother that’s like a bloodhound trained to look for problems like this on a car. When i bring him to buy a used car he can sniff up like 5 problems at least that the owner never thought about. He checks literally everything and i am so grateful!

Mom's 78 K5 is a peach! I had a 79 a Wyoming truck very clean loved it should have kept it. Had the SilverRayDo trim level PW/PDL/CC/A/C Am/FM 8 track Power Rear Window, Rally Wheels, 350, TH400, NP203 3.73 and a locking Diff. That truck was awesome! Long Live the Self Tapper King!

Torque converter bolts.. on transmission … it’s sounds lower end but not real bad like a soft knock and will echo off everything cause it’s connected to the crank shaft wich has everything close proximity… sounds like almost everything !!!

Sure sounded up front though.. I've ran into cracked flexplates and torque converter bolts before, I agree it sounds like that

@@PoleBarnGarage well thank you for letting me know you read my message when you find out and if it is .. I appreciate if you let me know or give a shout out when you’re filming again or do a video on it and repair it .. I’m curious about it myself .. from what I heard in video it didn’t get louder that I heard and it sure sounded like loose converter bolts .. and if the same person serviced that transmission like they serviced the shocks on that blazer lol I could see it being loose converter bolts probly no lock tight on them or not torqued to specs… lol thanks dalton looking forward to more cool content .. lol how’s that king cobra doing !!! Ok ttyl ✌️ 🤙🤜🤛🤙🤙🤘🤘‼️‼️💯💯

Those project farm tests are frickin excellent. The science is sound, and his recommendations are solid. He also got me switched to cheap bar oil. Just hope the price doesn't creep up(it already went up in proce on Amazon, probably because they were flooded with thousands of orders now that his video came out. The Cletus McFarland crown vic effect.

Oh and any time you have a bolt stuck in a sleeve......if a ball joint clamp is available, and fits.....it always does a great job pushing stuck bolts out of leaf spring bushings....or shock bushings.
