I watched your video a little more than a year ago while on maternity leave. Had to come back to thank you so much for the down-to-earth, detailed tips and demonstrations that really helped to make my pumping at work (prep, set-up, cup management) a better experience than it had been in prior times. Filming on a day when your sleep and/or stress wasn’t perfect helped ease my anxiety about being able to produce as much as baby needed. You are amazing; my inspiration!Thanks for being real. Hope all is well.

I know what you mean! That's why I wanted to do this video because 6 years ago, I couldn't find any videos of pumping moms who couldn't pump enough milk each day. All the moms at the time seemed to have ample supply and that was not me at all. It was almost a daily struggle to pump enough milk each day so I had to figure out how to make it work because it was really important to me. And thankfully, I was able to pump until the end. :)

This gives me realistic hope. You see all these freezer pictures full of milk, so in my mind I need to do the same. But after researching the benefits of fresh milk (and it's longevity) vs months old freezer milk your approach makes much more common sense. THANK YOU for a great video with Great information.

Hi Keeya, I really hope you see this...I know its been a year!! Please can you give me more info on the longevity of fresh milk? You can put the parts in the fridge between sessions but I personally didn't like the feeling of residual milk and cold cups on my skin 😅🥶 I was more comfortable with rinsing the milk in hot water and air drying. But I would deep clean and sanitize the parts when I got home.

She only got 2oz combined from both breasts with a hospital grade pump which is supposed to stimulate more milk production! That's a very low output I get 4-5 oz per per pump on average from each breast and about 7-8 oz combined and that's a more average amount. She was also drinking the Mother's Milk tea which contains fennugreek which stimulates more milk and she still doesn't produce much. I drink that as well and I currently drink about 2 cups even though the recommended amount is at least 3 cups per day because if I drink more both breasts get engorged and will leak.
@monti425 жыл бұрын
She admits to not pumping as often as she should so that will definitely decrease your milk supply. If you’re consistent with pumping every 2-3hrs on top of taking any additional milk supplements, then you should be collecting at least 4-5oz per breast.. then if you are directly breastfeeding like what she does in some of the video, then I would suggest using a manual breast pump on the other breast to collect any leaking milk, then pump again 20 minutes after breastfeeding to completely empty your breast...it’s all about tricking your body to believing you need more milk! She did good, but if she used some of these tips, she would have seen a huge difference in her milk supply.

I’m getting ready to be a new mom and I want to try going back to work part time could I nurse from the breast and pump for my baby?
@liannevalle3 жыл бұрын
Yes! I always wanted to have at least a week's worth of frozen milk stashed away. So to prep for that and my return to work, I would nurse my son on one breast while pumping the other side, which is what I would freeze. I did this arrangement once a day for about a month before I had to return to work so that I had my stash.

My caretakers would heat up the bottle by plunging it in hot water for 5 mins. Swirl & test the milk before giving to baby - but usually it would be perfect temperature doing it that way.

Do you use D drop because you dont directly nurse him? I been taking Calcium plus vitamin D3 softgels and I dont work, breastfeed my baby everyday and dont often pump. Is it the same way with you drop the vitamin D in his milk? Or should I also do both D drop and taking vitamin myself???
@Legal.Knievel4 жыл бұрын
I know this comment is 3 years old but for anyone else reading. It doesn't matter if you nurse directly or pump. Baby still needs vitamin D drops, as breastmilk lacks vitamin D. Mom would have to take 6,400 iu of Vit D for there to be enough in breastmilk.

Hi 👋🏼 so first of all I want to say I feel you. My baby boy is 5 1/2 weeks old and am still on maternity leave. All the getting up at night sucks but it's so worth it. I will be going back to working one month and a half. I wish I didn't because my baby will not even be 3 months yet. I only have a 15 min lunch because I work less about 6 1/2 hours and don't think I'll get a pumping break. I'm thinking of pumping during those 15 min and hopefully my milk supply won't go down so much. I'll be feeding the baby the last time at 7:30 am and probably will get a car a/c adapter to pump on my way to work (start at 9am) and pump again at lunch 12:45 pm and get off at 3:30 and home at 4pm to feed him again. Hopefully this will workout 😕

Hello Lianne, I would just like to ask if the freemie cups look bulky under your shirt? Because I'm considering it as an alternative pump while I'm at work. I'm a nurse and I dont have the luxury of break times like you. So I was wondering if I pump with this while working. By the way, this is the best pumping in a day vidd I have seen. Good job mom. 😊

Thank you for your kind words! Nope didn't look bulky. I have an almost non-existent chest though 😂 Sending love to you & your family!

Liked your video another great tip you can pump at least once on your days off and drink 2 of the mothers milk and see if that helps....also how much water do you drink in the day?
@liannevalle9 ай бұрын
Thank you!! I drink a crap-ton of water.

I have to go to our break room that has no door so anyone can see and on top of it they only let me one pump break in 8 hours

Yes, it was a privilege to have access to a pumping room. All working spaces should have something set up.

Carlene Gunn Lol I think it's funny. We call my son "Poopie" and I told my husband "Do you realize that we refer to our son as 'shit'?..." We both laughed. So when she kept saying "The Kid" I found it funny. I'm sure she doesn't mean it in a bad way.

Brenda Galvez I know, maybe she didn't want to say his name etc.. but it's a pet peeve of mine, I know she didn't mean any harm.

Carlene Gunn my family gets on me about this, as well. It gets me when they tell me what ro reference my child. "I'll call her a kid, if it's what I like," goes through my head, as I choke on a fake smile.

How do u like the freemie pump cups? Do they leak easily, can u move about with them on? I'm thinking about getting a set for my Medela pump.

Can you use freemies with any pump??
@relaxbenimame8 жыл бұрын
Hi Lianne, thanks so much for your video as it gives me confidence in Freemie again. I tried using it after I purchased it not long ago but I didn't think it cleared my breast milk as much as normal shields do. May I know whether u are facing the same problem as well? Or how did you overcome that? Thank you in advance! 😄
@liannevalle9 ай бұрын
Glad it helped! I thought the Freemies were fine. At the time I made this video, they were one of the first hands-free options. Now there are so many hands-free options out there that are way more savvy. I had my 3rd child and ended up using the traditional Medela cups instead of the Freemies. I found that they were more effective in getting milk out. It wasn't a drastic difference in output but noticeable. So I would agree with you there. I think we just keep trying different things and figure out what works for us in the current situation.
