I completely agree with your assessment of the movie, it's not forced, Naru is flawed but overcomes every obstacle using wit and knowledge of the environment. A well made movie all around. This movie is a breath of fresh air and it breathes new life into the franchise exactly when it needed it. Great movie, Great reaction! 👍

14:40-14:48 That's honestly one of my biggest criticisms with the first Predator movie. Yes, covering oneself in mud WOULD make one invisible to infra-red vision... for about a minute or two. After that enough body heat will have conducted into the mud to raise its temperature to detectable levels. 21:09-21:16 Sure, but they don't know that. Anyway, great reaction. Thanks for sharing this with us.

You made it as a successful youtuber when the comment section is arguing! Congratulations!=D But to actually write something useful this time: I like this movie for a lot of reasons. In my opinion its the most respectful soft-reboot so far. It is just similar enough to the first Predator to be instantly recognizable, but changes so many thing around that its still interesting. Additionally it doens't just rehash the original beat for beat, but it actually manages to expand the universe a bit by showing different times of the hunt and showing more of the Predators mentality/morals aaaand it lets you start your imagination for what the next movies could be, all while connecting to the first 2 Predator movies very well. And this film feels short! You are constantly engaged with it, which makes it fly-by, very convincing actors, good pacing, set pieces and twists. In my opinion this was something the Predator franchise needed badly, after so many bad sequels/spin-offs it just did something simple and executed it well.

That was a great review of a great movie, being a person who is intelligent, you don't have to say a lot during the movie, cause your reactions are what we all come for, like when you cover up, that's what the director wants, but then a few minutes of review at the end was perfect, great channel

Predators hunt the most vicious and violent life forms in the Galaxy. There are clan of hunters. Alejandro one's arm with guns swords knives whatever weapon you could take off and other alien life forms out there. I studied and watched their movies ever since when I was a kid in the nineties. My mother got me into predator movies. And aliens movies.

33:00-33:34 I would certainly have to agree with your thoughts about the film as well as the Aliens series, that the female leads in those films actually made sense and weren't forced in any way; which is likely why Prey had an overall positive review from audiences as well as the critics. But for some reason, when a series like She-Hulk for instance gets poor reviews, suddenly viewers find themselves under attack and being labeled mysogynistic instead of questioning whether the product was poorly made. I say all this to say, audiences (whether male or female) are willing to appreciate projects with strong female leads as long as the product is of good quality and not merely being made in order to enforce some kind of agenda.

The problem is that bad characters/bad writing always end up being blamed on the fact that it's a woman. Mostly men do this, though, & mostly men say what you've said. So sick of the "woke agenda" bullshit from you people.
@FLQueerLiberal1982

Well, you say that, but I can't tell you how many toxic whte male fan rage-reviews and videos on YT I came across that still insisted that this was some "woke" (otherwise known as diversity, inclusivity, or representation of minorities and/or historically marginalized communities, along with sensitivity, respect, and equal treatment of those communities), "leftist", "feminist", "garbage". They called her a Mary Sue (which I still don't fully understand, but understand enough - but because I'm not sexist I've never really had use for the word) because she happened to be able to defeat it without any training like the boys, or the men in earlier films, and because she was so small. Forgetting that sometimes brains can be just as big, if not bigger, an asset than brawn. They also complained about the portrayal of the white man in the film. Making them out as savages. Sweet irony.

@movieswithmom
@movieswithmom Жыл бұрын
Good question! I think the Alien, because the Predator only pursues those that are a threat, or will make it more of a fair game. But the alien won't discern like that, and go after even the most vulnerable.

Fun fact: the Cheyenne was never that far north they was mainly in New Mexico Oklahoma and Texas, that breed of dog didn't exist back then they had domesticated wolves and lastly they didn't kill bison in mass until the mid 1800s when the railroad was built
@missk8tie
@missk8tie Жыл бұрын
Um, Real Fun Facts: The characters in the movie are stated to be Comanche, and in the early 1700s the Comanche Nation was in the northern plains, before migrating south through the plains states over the next decade. The land west of the Mississippi belonged to the French until the Louisiana Purchase in 1803, and there were definitely French fur traders harvesting bison in the late 1700s in the northern plains.

Actually, that dog - the Carolina dog/American dingo - has been here for a long time. In fact, their ancestors migrated here with Asians (the ancestors of Native Americans/First Nations/Indigenous People of the all three American continents nearly 15,000 years ago from Siberia. The Carolina dog is one of the dogs of Native American people, including in the Great Plains.
