I was thinking : George seems so laid back. How's he gonna keep up with those changes? And then....

George is the consummate straight ahead jazz tenor player! Even though he wasn’t exactly the player that Herbie, Ron and Tony envisioned, Coleman’s work on Mile’s ‘Four and More’ and ‘My Funny Valentine’ live recordings is legendary and is IMHO the element that makes those albums shine. For more classic Coleman check out ‘Live at Yoshis’ , the duet album ‘Meditation’ with Tete Montoliu and the Chet Baker ‘Smokin’ album.
