@@EbilEnemyofBurgerTown yes! Amusingly, Ontario Northland had TEE trainsets for a while, which came from the Netherlands, although they were originally painted dark red and cream.

California railfan here. The metrolink blue line scheme was their second scheme after the crazy purple lines seen on their bbl coaches. The ribbon scheme was added in the early 2010s after rebuilds and the blank one was a cheap scheme added after further rebuilds in the mid to late 2010s. It is sadly what remaining few f59phr’s wear. I think they did it to save costs since they are supposed to be reactivated temporarily to fill in for mp36ph-3c locos. My favorite commuter rail scheme is the f59phi ribbon. You should see it.

Metrolink as far as I know calls their schemes “Phases” like Amtrak. There’s Phase II, which is what Metrolink used starting with when they got their F59PHIs, and Phase III, or “Ribbons”.

Great episode as always! 2024 has certainly been an eventful year, both inside and outside of the rail industry. A lot of particularly interesting stories covered this month, and I'd like to thank you for continuing to keep us informed about these happenings, ranging from national news to local railfanning. (Also, as a Long Islander, I'm especially happy to see that the C1s have a new service life by working for one of a small handful of railroads nowadays that carry both passenger and freight).

3:14 the rear cabs in the HHP-Cs are not deactivated, they're entirely gutted which means it's impossible to use it from that end now

about the acela II, amtrak has to basically "restore" the NEC. The NEC is extremely outdated

Those red gray uints are seen in Galesburg alot 😂 also the brightline accident was caused by the firetruck going around the lowered gates
