Even though she said corn meal, that was actually buttermilk corn meal mix which does have flour and leavening in it (someone had asked if she used any flour). I love fried okra--it looks delicious!

Fried is the only way that my Momma could get me to eat Okry. Yes I grew up in the hills of Arkansas hearing the women call it that, so even at 62 I still call it Okry. I am so happy that I found your channel. Everything that you cook brings back so many great memories of my Momma, Grand Mother and Aunts cooking. God Bless Y'all.

Nothing is better than hot fried okrey. It is just yummy. My Granny used to make peas and butter beans. When they were done she’d lay okra on top and steam those few okra. They are soft and yummy. I’ll be cooking okra tomorrow. 🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻Love you♥️

Tonight is "Thanksgiving Eve" 2019. I just found your videos tonight. I am around your age. Born and raised in deep DEEP South Alabama where cooking always was and is a THING. Trying to cook my Mama's recipes tonight and searching for those Childhood memories and tastes and I fail at every turn it seems. My Mama has been gone for 7 years now...she LOVED Thanksgiving and cooking....this day is always DIFFICULT! How I WISH I had preserved those recipes and moments on video like you are doing...a day will come that these vids are more valuable than gold to you! Thanks for sharing....
