2009-2012 barbie fashionistas were definitely the best. I recently bought the 2009 barbie fashionista cutie first wave, and she is gorgeous. The new ones are cheap and generic :/

I agree! Nowadays, Barbie is trying to be cartoonish and childish just to be more appealing to parents because her image before was a glamorous and trendy teenage girl which is a bad influence to children. So dissapointing

This era of Fashionistas was the best. I only have one, a "Cutie" with this chibi anime character theme. I remember seeing your 2nd fashionista in Kmart at the same time I got her but opted for the non-swappin styles doll. I miss the clothing and makeup on Barbies from back then. That shirt Sporty is wearing, we don't get shirts that nice anymore.

You're right. Barbies nowadays are not interesting to collect because of poor quality control. I wish I can still collect many Barbies from 2003-2009 were those Barbies are in good quality with a proper articulation and layered clothing that you can separate and mix n match with other dolls and fashion packs.

People tell me I’m too old that hurts my feelings but I don’t listen to them. No matter how old I am I will still play with my toys 🧸.

I have about 15 of those articulated dolls from the late Fashion Fever and early Fashionista eras. They are my favorite dolls of all time. I prefer the ball jointed limbs to the ‘made to move’, that make the dolls look like robots. My faves are the dolls from 2007 and 2008, but I also love the Swapping Styles line and both Fashionista Rainbow waves. Then they ruined the Fashionista line in 2013 when they removed the articulation, and it’s been getting worse ever since 😢

2003-2009 were the best years of Barbie for me since those years are my childhood and Barbies used to have a good quality until 2013 were the quality goes down 😕 and today where you can get a cheap boring plastic Barbie that you can just throw when you don't like it. 2010-2012 Barbies also have a good quality but I don't like the overusing of bright pinks and purples in every palette and color scheme which it overwhelming to the eyes.

you know what you could do to have makeup on a new fashionista or a made to move you could get a sharpie or a pen and put it on the dolls eye lid idk just a tip if you want your doll to have makeup but if your doll already has makeup then don't worry about it 😁

I too love the Fashionistas of those years, I have 3: Sporty, Glam and Artsy plus 3 Fashionistas poseable Ken dolls 💖😋 I hate the ones being made now, though. I love the faces, variety, but zero articulation and very poorly made outfits - definitely not a case of price/quality 🙀

I like the original/olds cool Fashionistas. I think they are like a Fênix since Mattel decided to totally change the face mold ant head size and even the body of the Barbies. But I think some clothes and combinations of them are extremely tacky and vulgar. The accessories are full of details and are not sophisticated...some beautiful hits and many mistakes :/

I miss nothing from this era except the click snap knees and the quality of the fashions. 2009-2010 was pink-encrusted EVERYTHING and the abuse of the overly blown up Lara sculpt and Desiree face. I still can't handle Desiree sculpts or the blown up Lara mold blondes, they just do nothing for me.

I also miss that rubberized bend n click legs of Barbies and I prefer it than the jointed knees because the hinge get loose as time goes by, although I know many Barbie collectors will prefer that but rubberized legs that bends and clicks is a win for me.

They should start calling these Barbie dolls “diversity dolls” not fashionista dolls ! Bc of all the whole cheap thin printed loose clothing , their is nothing fashion about it ! I do appreciate the diversity of face molds and body shapes but it really makes me miss the old 80-90s doll fashions and has made me also move in the Mga direction with the quality of clothing and layers cute specific accessories that are not generic pieces of plastic! I see what market they are gearing toward but why can’t they make the best of both worlds and make them for both kids and doll collectors ?! We are the adults that are buying the damn things and spending our hard earned money on plastic toys! I wish Mattel would see that and change their ways ...bc being in the business for 75 plus years ...ud think they would see what the trends and wants out of the doll community and sales !!! I just don’t get it ! They need to get off their Barbie name high horse and start appealing to both ages !

ALL the first fashionistas (from 2009 to 2013) were articulated, from the 1 wave to the last. THAT first doll you showed has a changed body(it is NOT her original body). DIDN'T HAVE FASHIONISTS WITH RUBBER LEGS. This body that is in it, with articulated arms and rubber legs were from other barbies from other predecessor collections, like the latest waves of fashion fever.
