I sudden twist in events found me having a discussion on discord with a Nina player who was impressed with my explanation of the Hayashida step on keyboard. I was humbled by the experience and further discussed different aspects of Nina in Tekken 7. A request was soon made to make a video about the movement based option on pad as people stillhave some questions about how to effectively do the move. Speed and coordination are key!
After asking my fellow camera man and sparing partner KRWKing101 (who's channel I will link) to assist, we made this video just for you. Just a disclaimer, I only warmed up for 10 minutes and have never practised Hayashida stepping on pad before. So considering all that, this surely is a great way to hayashida step!! Thank you for your time and enjoy.

Totally bizarre and inefficient way of doing this. Using both hands means that attacks out of Hayashida will be slower because your fingers are not available on the buttons. The best method is to just use the d-pad to do half circles from down to up in an arcing motion, and repeat. The half circle motion registers as a backsway into up cancel, which will give you a sway into sidestep in one fluid motion. Once you get the rhythm down, you can do this fast without having to resort to the analog.

He already said he wasn't a pad player. What do you expect? I believe he plays on keyboard.

most tekken pad players play claw instead of thumb though

Sure but it's also good to cater to thumb on pad players. If you are a claw style player you will have to resort to using the exact inputs
