Fatality doesn't even know the difference between a frame perfect IDJ and a delayed IDJ. He has done Active hop / delayed IDJ's believing they are what he needs to extend Falcons combo game. If he wants to get the most out of Falcon's combo game, he needs to learn how to buffer IDJ's along with the combo routes. Don't get me wrong, IDJ's are hard af to get right, but its kind of awful when people exclaim they get IDJ's when they don't understand what made Snasen's IDJ showcase a big deal with begin with.

@@DurzoGuile Yeah I get ya. The other issue is, I feel like too many will spend countless hours on this niche tech while ignoring glaring weaknesses in their neutral. Oftentimes, people aren't held back because they can't pull off a certain tech, but because they aren't willing to spend that time reflecting what's getting them punished, bad habits etc. Don't get me wrong, character specific and general tech is important, but not as important as having a solid neutral and understanding of your own weaknesses.

@@johnbingham5693 I agree, but IDJ is groundbreaking. With IDJ, Falcon has several kill routes that can start from 50 all the way to 0. KILL. ROUTES. It's not as niche, it is universal. Most characters can benefit from IDJ, but some get way more from it than others. Sora, Mario, Yoshi are a couple of other characters that get massive leverage from IDJ. As for Fatality's neutral, it could always get better, true, but it has gotten better over the past months. I just feel like if he truly wants to go next level, he needs to those IDJ combo routes down consistently, and Idk if he wants to do that since that requires a shit ton of time. With the 0 to death stuff on Falcon, he can effectively become Kazuya with insane approach speed, and thats terrifying.

Can't agree more about the "patience/shouldn't always be aggressive" comments. I swear Fatality should play more like he did in this one set against Protobanham at Summit. This was some of the slowest, even "boring" plays I've seen from him but it worked in the long run... again he knows more than us about his character/the game, but I'm getting kinda pissed of always seeing him go that far offstage to just get reversed edgeguard/not make it back half the times (against toptier players like Tweek at least).

While this is true, Lucina is a much easier character to play the long game against. Diddy not only has long range options to prevent Falcon's approaches but also has much better air speed. It's weird to say but you saw in this very match just how hard it can be to catch Diddy sometimes.

Yeah he missed plenty of things/had misinputs, also he said after pools that he wasn't playing with his own controller the whole day. I can hear the "Johns" coming but when you're a pro player for years, pretty sure not having your own controller can affect your performance a bit. I get that fatality is the best technical falcon player. The things he can do is just insane...but I've seen more patient and slow game players do better in neutral. I mean, nothin' fancy, just tilts and tech chases with occasional up smashes-- and they seem to do way better overall. Again though, Fatality played against Tweek with an amazing Diddy...so there is that too.

I love fatality and zweek. But.... fatality kinda got embarrised there. Honestly i feel that he didnt respect the ditty good mechanics enough. I feel he didnt really care to block or avoid banana same with monkey flup when unfortunetly they are pretty much the best part of ditty kit
