The father gorilla, Momotaro, thought that the baby gorilla below, Kintaro, had fallen and rushed down.
But Kintaro, who was just rolling around and playing, thought Momotaro was closing in on him and dashed away.
And after Momotaro realized that Kintaro was okay, he ate his food coolly.

Something About Gorillas, I loved your description! Thank you for sharing your insight into their lovely behaviors. I agree with you. I have seen other videos of Kintaro playfully or accidentally rolling down a slope. The fast movement startles Momotaro every time; he probably thinks Kintaro is about to get hurt. You would think Momo would have learned by now that Kintaro is just playing. But he reacts to save Kintaro.... every time. That's a good father.

It is not very different to how human parents react when their toddler takes a tumble. I am in awe of how very similar we and gorillas are with behaviors. Momotaro is a wonderful father and Genki is a fantastic mother. The boys are very lucky.

Yes Momotoro is learning more how to embrace fatherhood more and more . That's a good thing . Gentoro can learn that from him . As one day he too will become a father himself . As for Kenny now . @@MissaPality wrong she is not a fantastic mother at all she's the exact opposite selfish terrible partner and cruel when she doesn't get her way she literally only uses him for mating and that's it he spends most of the time by himself because since the kids were born she would not let them spend any time with them as long as she was physically able to stop them from doing it only when they were literally two large for her to drag them away by their feet with their head dragging on the ground it's filmed numerous times she did it kintaro and gentaro all the time she is just

You're calling a gorilla mother selfish, etc. Genki is a great gorilla mother to her offspring. She held Kintaro for 10 months straight because she was fearful the zookeepers would take Kintaro away from her like they did Gentaro because she wasn't producing enough milk. Her motherly instincts are so strong she still tries to protect Gentaro from Momotaro at times.And the one that was dragging Kintaro was Gentaro when he would kidnap the baby. Genki would hold onto Kintaro's feet and pull him back to prevent him from getting hurt by his brother. You don't make no kind of sense sitting their criticizing a gorilla because her actions don't meet your standards. Somebody needs to get a life. You even criticize their mating. They mate to procreate not to have sex just for the sake of having it. When she is ovulating she approaches Momotaro to let him know her body is ready to reproduce. Sounds like you're jealous of a female gorilla that you want to act like you would towards a human. They are still primates at the end of the day.

自分もこの場面に遭遇したときは、子を守ろうとする父親としての使命感に感動したんですけど、よく見返してみると左手にエサを掴んだままで、食欲を捨てきれてないのがモモタロウらしくて可愛いなと思いました^_^
