I know my children inside out, I know their emotional and maturity stage, YOU DONT, YOU KNOW NOTHING ABOUT MY CHILDREN, NOT THEIR MENTAL HEALTH, THEIR MATURITY OR THEIR EMOTIONAL STAGE. Now please explain to the public as your PUSHING AN AGENDA, How being taught the context of these type of book will AID our children to get a JOB and how that will help them in that job. It won’t, but what it will do to a lot of children is TRAUMATISE THEM AND DAMAGE THEIR MENTAL HEALTH because they are neither old enough or mature enough. No, a school library is not a public library. While both are community centers that provide access to information in various formats and a safe, welcoming environment, they have different purposes and missions: School libraries Support the school's curriculum by providing learning resources for students and educators. They are usually part of a school system and serve students in grades K-12. School libraries are often called media centers and are directed by licensed teacher/school library media specialists. Public libraries Serve the recreational reading and information needs of the community as a whole. They provide access to a wide range of information resources and services to the general public. Public libraries are directed by trained library directors

When did she answer? Did she answer why 13 individuals get to supersede the rights of 10 million parents who didn't report those books? Mean while hundreds of thousands of parents demand Ziegler's resignation while she refuses to relinquish her position. Okay, let's try question 2, why are books like Anne Frank's and MLK's removed from MFL administered schools if the target is "sexually explicit materials?" Try me clown.

@@YourRandomBAD so you are saying to ignore eyewitness individuals because everyone else didn't see the crime. You think majority of parents will see everything that is happening. I'm glad we have parents like her who cares and want the schools to focus on subjects that matters. And remove the things that will corrupt the youth. Is that simple. But there are people like you who will support immorality and crime just because the mass population didn't report it... because they weren't aware of what's happening. That is the point. And now many are and guess what, many agree on her stands. The only ones who don't are the ones that loves immorality (perverted) especially toward kids.

I'm incensed that someone, anyone, can dictate to me as a parent what I want my child to read to have a full understanding of issues in LIFE. The interview should never have been aired. Giving fascists like this a platform to spread their misinformation is irresponsible and dangerous. MSNBC keeps putting these authoritarians who are actively taking rights away from the public at large and putting all the control of the nation in the hands of a few over privileged hate mongers. I couldn't listen to much of the interview because it was clear early on that the fascist would be allowed to side step any serious questions and instead spread more misinformation. These people said they are proud to quote hitler for Pete's sake! Why would you ever give ppl like that an audience of millions to spread propaganda to?

We don't allow our school libraries to maintain explicitly pornographic magazines in any school system in the country that I know of. The question then becomes "what is pornographic content", which isn't always a black and white answer. Then comes "at what age can this grey area of definition be introduced"? The answer to this almost certainly belongs with the person's most responsible for the health and well-being of the children. Now we finally get to "who are those people, the state or the parents?" Very few reasonable parents would surrender that responsibility to the state for their own children imo, nor should they.

@@viper2148 Because she didn't actually ever attempt to answer the big questions truthfully once and made every attempt to steer the conversation away from the questions Joy was leading her into. Joy wanted to ask immediately after this "Then why didn't the other 10 million parents who had access to this content report it if it was so offensive?" That's why it's bad that schools are willing to take action on the reports of the extreme minority like the serial 13. Point 2: When asked why a list of books about very relevant and important historical and societal topics were being removed nationally by M4L movements in public schools, Karen's response was: "But we didn't make that list." Does that answer the question? No, it pivots and evades responsibility. So in the first 2 questions she can't even play ball. "What's my point."
