We talk about day-to-day events and what's happening in today's world. Most rule and privately schooled white's have never heard about many things that have happened to black and indigenous people in America. As a half Brazilian half Slavic (I know, half South American, half Chzech, now that's a neat mix) I ended up in a Public school in an *EXTREMELY* well to do area in the Northeast. 10-13 children per class, fantastic teachers, beautiful area, and I was taught about the "Trail of Tears" beginning in 2nd grade. I still remember the little books with a picture and 1 or two short sentences beneath them descreibing the horrors of what happened to the Indians and most other racxes, ESPECIAlly people coming from Africa. From the intitial sales and auctions in Africa, to the auctions in Europe, to the Auctions in the US, along with the abhorent treatment every step of the way (Obviously the older we were the more detailed the information became). In my 9 years at that school (K-8) we had 2 African Americans, 2 Hispanic, and a handful of Portuguese people. The school was almost 100% English, Polish, German, Irish, Swedish and French, but it was most definitely taught, and it wasn't a special prep school, though 3 people in myt class ended up graduating from Harvard, 5 from Umass, and two from MIT. Your issue is you ar3e grouping everyone together and think that everyone has had the same life experiences. We don't. 10 miles up the road the class size was around 40 and roughly 50% didn't finish high school, never mind college. The teachers were also not allowed to teach the same curriculum, which is what it really boils down to. Then you add "What will engage the children so they actually learn what we are teaching". Then something huge, that shoiuld be addressed; the size of the class itself. You put 30+ children in a classroom and how is a teacher supposed to provide an environment that is condusive to learning? Sure, children who really want to will, as they will just read and re-read the tect books or handouts at home, but most won't. That's not on the teachers _imo,_ it's on the state for not providing enough money to attract, hire and maintain enough great educators. Then we have single parent households, along with 2 parent household who both work full-time+ where the children and parents don't have the time required to spend 90 minutes a day going over what the child learned, helping with and corerecting homework etc. MLK had it right, judging people based on the color of their skin is ignorant. I had to fight pretty much every day because of my heritage and my mother's social station compared to the other students. I don't think ever caucasian dude I see is going to assault me during the summer because I'm about 3 shades darker than myt pic. I do see the inherent advantages they had over myself though. You know what, it had nothing to do with color, it was pretty much exclusively money. If we want to change the US, we shoulde focus on class inequality. We can't, and should never be a country that has everyone end up at the finish line at the exact same time, but we should do our best to ensure that every child has the same opportunities. Whether they excel or fail is based on the child/young adult and the parents. Focus on the bills and laws that caused this giant class divide like the Shareholder Revolution Acts of 1978. How corporations fund the politicians who are supposed to protect us from monopolies and oligarchies etc.. And yes, teach accurate history. The good, the bad and the shameful. Don't teach people that we are all entitled to the same outcome though, or that hard work is racist. That's just stupid, and with China at our heels economically, the last thing we nbeed is a generation of children who think 2+2 can equal 4.

He is “associated” with it, in the sense that he agrees with it. But claiming that he’s a Critical Race Theorist is just false and trying to criticise CRT using him makes no sense. If you want to criticise CRT, criticise the tenants they teach or the actual theorists of the topic. Not just random people that support it.

The truth can't be swept under the carpet and hope it goes away. The history of the country has been based on race. In order to stop racism people need to have a knowledge of the history. If that was not true, there wouldn't be bigots saying they are not racist. It's not to make people feel bad about themselves or their forefathers. There are people in this country today who teach their kids to be racist. Example: "I don't want you hanging out with those Black kids because they might get you in trouble or you might get hurt." The funny thing is that it was a study group going to the library. I went to school with White kids that came from influential families and we used to hang out. It always a White talking about ganging up on someone they didn't like. I went home and eventually stopped being around them. There are good things that came out history too. Crimes and bad things don't care about race. Anybody can join. That's why we are starting to hear about many races of criminals are committing crimes. When you see crimes committed by people and you pick and chose who did it, that is not only hypocritical, it's not only hypocritical, it's racist.
