My last chit-chat 😢 For this week's slow French chit-chat, we’re exploring one of the most iconic parts of Paris: the metro! Inaugurated in 1900 for the World’s Fair, the Paris metro is much more than just a transportation system. Did you know that the famous wrought-iron metro entrances were designed by Hector Guimard in the Art Nouveau style? Or that some stations, like Bastille, are decorated with artwork that tells the city’s history?
We’ll dive into the unique charm of the metro, from its 16 lines and hundreds of stations to hidden stations closed to the public but still used as film sets!

J'ai déjà pris le métro parisien. Je me suis souvenu que j'ai monté l'escalier Abbesses à la ligne 12 le jour où j'ai grimpé les marches de l'Arc de Triomphe😫, et qu'il faut appuyer sur le bouton pour ouvrir la porte dans certaines lignes de métro. Merci pour la série de French chit-chat😊

Merci pour toutes les vidéos Dylane. Nous avons récemment visité le café utilisé dans le film Amélie et nous prévoyons de le regarder à nouveau bientôt, maintenant que nous comprenons mieux le français 😊. Nous utilisons le métro à chaque fois que nous visitons Paris et nous reviendrons à Noël.

I'm sad to learn you've decided to stop the chit-chat channel but understand the demands on your time. I love this channel and always learn something interesting from your excellent research. It's clear the Metro is special given how well the last Olympics seemed to go but I had a real adventure on it the last time I was in Paris as I was trying to get back to the airport. I couldn't find my connecting train and ended up spending an enormous amount of time wandering through the corridors while trying to get to my departing flight. There are KZbin videos on how to use the Metro and I suggest that people who are planning on using it do their research and really understand how the lines work. Dylane, Bonne Chance sur votre application et autre endeavours! Je rechercherai votre contenu!
